This isn't a restaurant, it's a food EXPERIENCE! My friends warned me ahead of time, and I am thankful. They said, "drink lots of water all day, but don't eat anything..." They were right. I have always been the carnivore's carnivore, but I must say, I have never eaten so many delicious meats in one meal as I had at the Green Forest. I was READY for the meats. What I WASN'T ready for was the vast array of other foods that were prepared and waiting on a monstrous ice bar and in hot chaffing dishes. Bring your own beer or wine, and prepare for the food experience of a lifetime! When they ask you if you want dessert, just laugh and try to burp. (You'll probably be too full to do EITHER!) Amazingly enough, even after some of the best roasted meats I have ever tasted, my FAVORITE part was the brown sugar-encrusted spit-roasted pineapple! Wow. You might want to bring a dolly so somebody can wheel you out of there when you finally say uncle.

LUCIANO'S is my favorite pizza place in Pittsburgh. When I first moved to the South Hills and found out that there was a Luciano's in the area (I had been to the one on Rt. 48 several times) I was extremely happy, because friends out on that side of town know it's the best pizza around. THE FACT IS that Luciano's has outstanding food. Their pizza is first-rate, and so are their calzones. (although what they call a calzone is actually a stromboli, technically. You have to ASK for ricotta cheese...) They have family dine-in specials like all-you-can-eat pasta, and the prices are very modest, while the quality of the food is great. The hoagies are superb. You can get a good beer on tap, or in a bottle, and you can get it delivered to your doorstep. Luciano's is everything that a local pizza place should be, and it's even better because they have a nice little dining room with table service. I have probably spent more money at Luciano's than I have at any other pizza place in my considerab ...

Now opened as Rockhoppers with new owners. Excellent variety of food, with daily specials. Not your typical bar food. They have pizza, burgers, paninis, sandwiches, subs, wraps, salads, and dinners. Love the bella-chini panini (fried zucchini, mushrooms, mozz cheese and red pepper pesto) and the montreal steak wrap. Friendly owners and great service. Drinks very reasonably priced and nice selection of beers.

This restaurant is a little out of my way but is absolutely worth the
drive. I've only been there maybe a half dozen times and I'm
a little ashamed to admit that I've only tried one entree. I've
always wanted to try some of their other menu items but the first time
I went I had tghe apricot chicken and it was so good that I end up getting
the same thing every time.

I've never actually been inside this place so I can't comment
on the service or atmosphere but our office has had food delivered from
here dozens of times. The food is consistently good, delivery is always
on time. Occasionally they will forget something from our order but
they always make it right and someone will bring the forgotten item
even if it's just salad dressing.

This restaurant recently reopened under new management. Since reopening
they kept most of the old menu items and added some new ones. The prices
have gone up a little but they're still reasonable. They did A LOT
of remodelling and the atmosphere is great. The bar area is especially
nice.

This restaurant is no longer around which is sooooo sad because it was
excellent! Family owned, great food and great service so I hope some
of the family members decide to open up a new Hartners and continue the
tradition because this family definately knows what they're
doing!
