This place actually has really good food. it's a lovely date restaurant
as well, with cozy and romantic ambience. really good prime rib, as
noted by other reviewers. good for large parties, as well, though the
service can be slow.

A revered tradition in the Northwest, Elmer's started life as
a pancake house. These remain the restaurant's strength. The
other breakfast items range from very good (french toast) to average
(hash browns). Service has always been friendly, if a bit hectic when
busy.
The attempt to make Elmer's a moderately-priced diiner house
has not gone well. Short order cooks and pre-made sauces might work
for Applebee's, but don't satisfy at Elmer's dinner
prices.
In short, go for breakfast and enjoy a four plate-sized pancake short
stack.

Going to this resturaunt has shown me what a hometown eatery should
be. The food was good, the service was pleasant, and contained an enjoyable
decor of oldstyle living, and a small modern buzz of the outside world.
As I said, the perfect hometown resturaunt.

I love this place, the food is excellent, many choices to pick from.
everyone can find something they like at hometown buffet. since they've
expanded the mall, this one is a little tricky to get to, but that's
cool...it's worth it! the line can be long, especially on holidays,
but once you get there...there's no place like hometown buffet!

This place is not bad, for strip mall food. the restaurant is huge, much
bigger than the other mexican food place in town, but overall, i found
the service lacking. there's a huge bar area, which probably attracts
a certain crowd, but the food wasn't too great either, and i only
go there when i am pressed to by my friends.

This is the downtown los dos, and is very good! the margaritas are huge,
the service is excellent, the place is always packed. food is yummy
as well - although they don't serve pork carnitas, which they definitely
should! however, the carne asada is scrumptious!

I didn't think the food was very good at all. The beef was a mushy
gelatinous goo, the sweet and sour chicken was really dry and stringy,
and for the most part everything was bland. The service was pretty good,
and the atmosphere was so-so. I would not recommend this place. I can
stay home and heat up ready made chinese food from the grocery store
freezer that is more authentic and tastier.

My husband and I opted to dine in the John Wayne Saloon, which always
has a John Wayne movie playing on it's two large screen T.V's.
It had a fun funky old west decor. The service was average. I really liked
the iced tea, and my husband very much enjoyed his milk shake. We shared
the bbq sampler platter. We both agreed the chicken was the best, and
we also really liked the brisket, but the sausage was really porky tasting
and nothing very special, also the ribs weren't very tender. The
side of potato was really good and came with real crumbled bacon, a nice
touch. The side salad was large and included a good variety of vegetables
which was pretty nice. I also like the bread they gave us. I thought the
price was worth it, and we had plenty of left-overs. I would recommend
this place as a decent stop if your ever in Shady Cove.
