The PO-Boys with stale bread and attitude from the staff, didn\\\'t help in forming my opinion of Mother\\\'s. The worst suggestion I received in regards to local food.

The decor is drab, like a truck stop diner. Our table was dirty with crumbs and soda stains. They apparently just started taking orders on PDA devices which was not only pretentious, but made ordering an awkward, lengthy ordeal of our server trying to find our menu items with his stylus and electronic screen. My wife ordered a small salad and large gumbo, got a large salad and small gumbo, whatever. I got the reuben, it was decent but nothing special. Drinks and food were way overpriced; wife got a Bloody Mary which cost $8 for about 8 oz. It suddenly dawned on me how they can afford new PDA's for their servers. I opted for a $12.50 Bloody Mary because it was supposed to come with a souvenir glass. The drink is obviously not worth $12.50, but I didn't get the souvenir glass either. I was told to come back TWICE in the next 12 hour period to get it, they never had it. Someone named Alex promised to mail me one, it never came. The gumbo was bland compared to other places in the French Qu ... more

Unfortunately it has been a few years since I was able to eat at the Louisiana Purchase in Kenner, Louisiana. When my wife and I were last there everything was great The food was fresh and hot. Could not be happier. Hope to get back there this year. Tell them to stock up on food, this Ohioan is coming down for some great food.

Glockners Place was a great little Cafe', now they do catering and special events. They have put a snow ball stand at the location and sell all kinds of other items. You must try the Super Stuffed Bayou Ball. The phone number has changed to 985-869-5755

I've gotten take-out from these guys for several years and a guess this recent experience put the last nail in the coffin... I called to ask the size of their boiled crawfish and was told medium to large, so I ordered 2 4-pound orders. When I got home with my order, I noticed they put all the crawfish in one bag (lazy idiots) and the crawfish wasn’t even small, they were bait size. Needless to say, my bill was around 54 bucks for this crap. When it comes to boiled seafood, stay away from these f***ers!!

Clean homey atmosphere, and very friendly service. The catfish is good, but the shrimp is awesome.

This is a chain restaurant and was recommended to us. We were very disappointed. The blackened alligator bites were so heavily spiced with a custom 16 or 26 spice combination I couldn't tell what kind of meat I was eating. The Hollandaise sauce it was served with was very good. I didn't care for the shrimp stew either. Since we were so disappointed with the appetizers, we decided to forgo dinner. The restaurant was very crowded and apparently it's a very popular restaurant; but we won't go back.

Wow, what a restaurant. In addition to having just about any beer you could think of to choose from, the food it just amazing. If you can't decide which beer to order, just order one of their samplers. You will get 5 oz. of 5 different beers. After we had fun trying the different flavors of beer, we ordered salad, crab cakes, shrimp Po Boy and the seafood sampler. The salad dressings were amazing. All dressing are made in house. The Italian dressing was loaded with Parmesan and Romano cheese. The crab cakes were the best I have every had. They are loaded with crab meat, shrimp and crawfish. Both the Po Boy and seafood sampler were great. But, besides the crab cakes, the bread pudding dessert was absolutely to die for. It comes hot with lots of pecans in a delicious sauce.

OMG! The best! Try the eggplant pelto! They have two pieces of fried eggplant with some kind of seafood stuffing in the middle. Also it was covered in a creamy seafood sauce with crabmeat on top!
