Let me just say straight up that this restaurant is one of the best I have eaten at in recent memory. I'll save miscellaneous banter for later and just jump right into the dishes for now. Valdostana: In layman's terms, this is pretty much a Beef Cordon Bleu. the beef pockets are filled with ham and fontina cheese, served with mashed potatoes and spinach on the side. The beef was kind of tough, but other than that it was a very delicious dish. Tagliatelle ai Funghi: Now this is what really blew me away! Straight from the menu, this is pasta with champignon mushrooms, garlic, cream, parmigiana reggiano and parsley. That may not sound like much, but the flavor was absolutely euphoric. It was delicious by itself, but I also asked for some grated cheese on the side and that made it even better. I also needed to ask for some bread to collect every drop of that sauce!! I highly recommend this dish...even more so than the previous one!! So yeah, we were very lucky to stumble upon this gem of a ... more

I attend the liberal arts college in Sherman, TX. This place is tucked away, but believe me, it is worth the visit and the return. This is a place where they treat repeat customers like royalty. I was in there one afternoon with some friends, and as a gentleman walks in through the door he was handed what appeared to be his beverage of choice, a Heineken, BEFORE HE EVEN SAT DOWN! Outside of that, the promotion of local hipswinging talent is great! There is free entry on Thursday nights when its a good time to take the ladies country dancing. Then on Friday and Saturday, there is a cover charge of $5 for more great live music. I'm not real big on ribs, but the ribs here are pretty fantastic. Smoked in house from what I'm told. But the green beans is where it really hits home. Smoked green beans that have a most succulent flavor. But my favorite thing on the menu is "The Pigwich". A sandwich with combo of smoked meats, pico de gallo and shredded cheese. I have two drawbacks though- I'm i ... more

Planning any type of event? Keep looking! I had my rehearsal dinner at this location and it was a disaster. The room was one large room where they just pull curtains to make it smaller so everyone was on top of each other. The meat portions were half the size of what you would get when typically ordering, yet the prices are higher! We also paid for a slightly larger package so it would include an appetizer. $5 more person for a single cheese wedge per person. The drinks and the food took forever, 30 minutes for a single glass of wine. When we did finally get food, she put the same amount of food on every table, though some tables had twice as many people, so we were forced to pass platters from one long table to the next with no help from the servers. When I told her we needed more food, she gestured to the other table and said, well they have some. No help coming from her! We were also eating on a stack of plates simply so they did not have to bring fresh plates between courses. The s ... more

We work nearby so we have eaten here before, was only average food and service. We needed to get something quick, so we ordered to go. My wife got chicken fried rice; I got General Tso's Chicken. When we got home and started eating, we both agreed the Chicken was bad, one thing was it was dark meat chicken, and bad tasting dark meat Chicken. When we ordered my wife ask and was told it was white meat. Plus the rice tasted strange. Order was uneatable and cost us about $20, we ended up opening a can of Campbell’s soup for our supper. Not only that but when my wife paid for the to go order the cashier/owner held out a tip basket and shook it asked if my wife wanted to contribute. My wife pointed out in very plain language that tips were for good service and because it was a go order we had not received any service. Also that all she had done was to reach over pick up our packaged order and put it in front of the Cash register. She also explained to her it was not up to us to provide wag ... more

Five extended family members drove 20 minutes straight from Woodbury until we parked our vehicle and sat down on an outside table in the Selby Ave’s Red Cow restaurant mostly sunny and pleasant setting of Downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, USA, last Sunday early afternoon for lunch. I had started the road trip somewhat earlier in Rochester, had just worked the prior night, and was ready for a relaxing and rewarding time which I indeed got. While my wife Deb was visiting our other son Paul and his family in Phoenix Metro’s Tempe, Arizona. I was given two local (better a short drive with baby Luke in tow) food venue choices and then selected RC due to having bison hamburgers on their menu. As a Southern European-born-and-raised citizen I am delighted with the fact that thanks to my personal efforts here in North America I have been able to restore my biological status to allow me to easily digest bison meat without the slightest discomfort / problems. We also had once these wonderful bovi ... more
