They consistantly have been an excellent restaurant. I
recommend their ostrich / emu appetizer ( they were both
special appetizers the last few times I was their ), and all
of their duck entrees - they are one of the few restaurants that
can properly prepare duck.

Although I have eaten here only once, I was a sales rep for a meat and
seafood distributor and know first-hand the chef bought only the
best. If it was not right, it went back to the supplier-no
argument. Dine here and enjoy!

I was a little disappointed in this restaurant.
I expected innovative dishes--or at least extremely
tasty creations--and each dish was just kind of
ordinary. The duck was good, but not outstanding;
I've had much better lamb elsewhere; and the fish
was just okay. The soup was excellent, but the
desserts were unremarkable. All in all, everything
just seemed a little tired.
Our total bill was ~$50 p/p for dinner, including wine.

I've been eating at 'The Black Sheep' since 1977; the food standard
has never changed. Best value is the patio 'Preset Menue' Sunday to
Thursday-this is only served on the patio from ~ June thru
October. Service is the best I've had over the years-that has also not
changed.!

As the name implies this "Black Sheep" does not go
along with the rest of the "family" of stuffy French
resturants. The dress is casual and the cusine is surperb!
The service was absolutely flawless! The water glass was
never empty, neither was the bread plate! All bread rolls
were delivered HOT! Our waitress, Jill, was excellent and
very knowledgable on both food and wine.
The meal had outstanding presentation -- a great compliment
of color and textures. The sauces were very light--not
like the typical heavy, rich sauces I have come to
associate with French cusine. I had the Chicken Breast
and Prawns that came in a Conac sauce. Don't worry about
the alcohol content, the sauces are so lite that there is
really not much to be concerned about!
My wife had the Salmon with Lobster medalions, which she
said was also excellent.
For dessert, I had the Bananas Foster. It was very good,
but I have had better desserts. My wife reported the
same with her choice--Decadance.

I have eaten here several times over the last three years
and the food is still as good as it was when I first came.
I have dined wearing jeans and a sweater, although many
people choose to go more formally.
Excellent Duck dishes, usually good appetizers, with a
menu that changes to reflect availability.
Most desserts are made w/ alcohol. This has been an issue
w/ some of my friends who do not care for the taste
