Atmospshere was nice with family style settings (long tables
that seat 10 or more. I tried the Pinon drink and it tasted some
what like Cream Sherry, but not as heavy. The four course dinner
was served with the common bowl salad and bread first. Very good.
Next came the split peas soup and cow tongue. They were very tasty
(split pea better than Anderson's). Bread was very good.
However, the main dishes (steak for wife and lamb chops for me)
were awful. Both dishes were over salted/seasoned. My thick
chops had to be returned before I taste them because they were
blood running rare (I asked for medium well). Upon return I cut
off a piece and tried it (still too rare) and it was also salted
so much that I could not eat any of it. Envision eating salted anchovies!
We returned both entries and the waitress did nothing except
lower our bill a few dollars. Not vey good for a $29 apiece dinner.
Very bad experience for first time going there. We were also the
first served that day. Dean and Diane Chaney Reno
