The food is wonderful and the italian pastry is the best I've seen down here. They carry all of the imported stuff that the Italian Deli's carry up north. It would be better if the light from the outside didn't come in, making the atmosphere more palatable.

Atmosphere is austere, but the deli and bakery make it interesting. Service has improved. Lunch menu is reasonable and most choices are typical American Italian, with a little more authenticity than most resurants, which includes sub sandwiches. Many dinner entries are larger portions of the lunch menu, but some new items have been added. There are daily specials. The chef seems to have a problem with some white sauces, which are served much too watery for my taste. Recommendations: mixed antipasto (a meal for one, great for two), calamari (possibly the best around), and either of the eggplant dishes (my favorate). Excellent choice of Italian wines and if fresh Italian bakery items appeal to you, the dessert choices are endless. The Sunday brunch buffet is a great value ($13) and the food is very good, but choices are limited.

PANE E VINO, or bread and wine, is one of the best in this MELBOURNE AREA. It's located at THE OAKS upscale shopping mall, which is just one street north of the Melbourne Square Mall, and houses the OAKS THEATRE, on the other end of the strip. Plan to enjoy an excellent early dinner at the Pane e Vino, and then head over to the movies, for a perfect evening's entertainment. You'll be happy with anything that you order here....;it's the "real-thing".

We highly recommend this restaurant. The veal dishes are superb!! Sal Romano, chef, does an unbelievable job in the kitchen. The sauces are delicious--no matter what dish you order. Our favorite waiters, Gene and Charlie, are always attentive and usually provide us with a few good laughs during our meal. Desserts are indescribable--there are so many to choose from. We recommend the truffles, flan, chocolate cheesecake, and tiramisu. If you want some real Italian food, go here. We don't think you'll be disappointed.

authentic italian cuisine, true taste of europe.they bake thier own cookies, pastry and breads.they carrt a large selection of italian imports and wines.i recommend the chef romano, a dish with assorted seafood and cooked in white wine and sherry sauce. i have recommended this restaurant to mant people who have enjoyed it thouroghly.thet also have a sunday buffet which gives you a taste of thier foods and deserts
