This downtown location of Sam Snead's Tavern attracts power-lunchers and fans of legendary golfer Sam Snead alike. The golf focus isn't overdone here, and the themed menu gives plenty of delicious options, from simple salads to grilled fish to hefty steaks -- the burgers are particularly good. The office crowd tends to stick with choices like the niblicks, fried wonton pockets stuffed with oak-grilled chicken, cheese and mild peppers or the generous Caesar salad with grilled salmon. <br> Diners can also throw caution to the wind and order a buffalo chicken sandwich with blue cheese or parmesan-fried grouper. The chocolate sack dessert is a winner, a towering dark chocolate shell filled with layers of sponge cake, white chocolate mousse and raspberry puree. Ask for two forks, because there's plenty to share.

I love Sam Snead's - it's a nice place to attend after Church on Sunday or after a game of golf. The service is a little slow and sometimes the seating takes a while, but it's worth the wait. The restaurant is centered around a golfing theme and the menu is set up accordingly, which is really cute. For instance, the salads are "the greens, " the entrees are "the main course" and so forth.

Food is very good, noisy setting though, bar is almost always packed, desert is great. Nice to have a close place that has good food. Service is good and quick.
