I live in Bayonne and I am quite pleased with all the interesting
restaurants this small town has to offer. La Traviata
is one of the better ones. The atmosphere was charming, the food
delicious, and the service attentive. I would definately go
again and bring friends and family.

I HAVE BEEN TO LA TRAVIATA RISTORANTE MANY MANY TIMES AND EACH
DINING EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN ENJOYABLE.
I WAS SURPRISED TO READ THE NEGATIVE 2 STAR REVIEW GIVEN BY JOE
SIMONETTI. I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH THE REVIEW.
LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY DINING EXPERIENCE. FROM THE MOMENT YOU
WALK IN THE PLACE THE ATMOSPHERE IS WARM, COZY, AND CHARMING.
YES, THE PLACE IS NOT BIG, BUT IT ADDS TO THE COZZINESS AND CHARM.
KEEP IN MIND, THIS IS A SMALL HOMETOWN RESTAURANT WITH GOOD QUALITY
FOOD AND SERVICE. THE DECOR IS CUTE AND CHARMING. DONT GO IN THERE
AND EXPECT THE TAJ MAHAL. ON THE WEEKENDS, LIKE EVERY RESTAURANT,
IT GETS VERY BUSY. I SUGGEST RESERVATIONS. DURING THE WEEK, IT
IS NOT SO BUSY. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE BIG CROWDS, DO NOT GO ON THE WEEKEND
GO DURING THE WEEK IF THAT IS SOMETHING THAT BOTHERS YOU.
THE FOOD FROM THE BREAD TO THE DESSERTS ARE EXTRAORDIARY. EVERYTHING
IS MADE ON PREMISES. BESIDES, WHO GOES TO A RESTAURANT TO EAT BREAD.
I GO FOR THE FOOD. I AM SO ...

The food is always excellent and freshly prepared. The food portions
are big, and the price is fair. The atmosphere is truly italian:
Friendly, Warm and Caring. I have taken my friends there, and
they also feel the same about La traviata, and always willing
to go back anytime I suggested.

I was refered to this resturant through dine.com and was kind
of dissapointed in the inaccuracy of the 5 star ratings that some
people gave.I found it to be too congested. The tables are right
on top of each other.I felt like i was having dinner with strangers
at my table. The bread that i recieved tasted like day old bread. The
food is better than the service. The help is not very proffesional.I
felt like we were being rushed with our dinner so they could get
more people in.Not a very pleasant expiriance in my opinion.

La Traviata made our group feel welcome, even though the kitchen
was just about to close. We did feel bad that we had them stay open, BUT!!!
They assurred us that we were more than welcome to stay and have
dinner.And have dinner we did!!!!!!
The atmosphere itself is classic of an "old" Italian Bistro'The
music is even better! It is all of the Italian Classics from La
Traviata (YES the opera, their namesake, and, of course Boccelli, and
everything in-between) to modern "italian rock"..
The menu, upon reading seemed kind of the "norm" that all restaurants
have, but when we were served what we ordered, the GREATNESS
began........
Upon asking our waiter we were informed about how "fresh" the
whole meal was prepared. From the actual cooking of the pasta
per order to the Tiramasu made that afternoon (AS IS THEIR CHEESECAKE, AND
CREME BROULET!) which we ordered after and enjoyed
The Espresso, and Cappuccino is also ground and made to order
as well. ...

I've been to this restaurant for lunch, dinner, birthday parties
and work parties. Each time the experience has been wonderful.
The waiters and waitresses are extremely friendly. The atmosphere,
with Sinatra or classical opera music, is excellent. Not to mention
the food which is delicious. I have recommended this restaurant
to many friends and none were disappointed.
