Never one to complain but felt I had to about this crooked joint. Everytime
I go for seafood, I always get a combo platter. Haddock, scallops, shrimp
and clams, right? The first time I went they screwed me out of the shrimp.
Second time I went it was the clams. Third time I went, I asked for DOUBLE
EXTRA lemon and got 2 small wedges. I left my plate right there on the
counter and proceeded to walk across the street to Browns where I have
never had a reason to complain. I have been going to Browns for 8 years
now and although I may try other seafood places, I will NEVER go back
to Markeys. Period.

We have frequented Markeys for the last few years ordering lobsters
and steamers only. They were always great. However, we stopped today
and had fried clams and scallops. They were terrible. They were undercooked,
chewy and all stuck together. The onion rings were an oily mess. Stick
with the lobster and steamers and you should be ok.

Excellent! If you love seafood, this is the place to go. The food is great
and the prices are not unreasonable. You can eat inside or on a covered
deck over the water watching and listening to the seagulls.

Awesome, awesome, awesome.... the best three words to describe the
succulent seafood at Marky's. A must for all seafood lovers.

Half a century and counting without a bad meal. Without a "just
OK" meal even. Ever. Across the street is OK and takes credit cards
but Markey's is the ultimate. Cold, fresh, meaty lobster piled
into a grilled, top sliced frank roll with a hilarious hint of lettuce
leaf along bottom is what I get for, oh, forty something years as an adult
and weaned on them before that. Open year round so has enormous unadorned
glassed-in waterside dining room with indoor picnic tables. Always
make it my first food stop on landing in Boston from Arizona or elsewhere....then
back south to the city for Durgin Park. Simple, honest, unadulterated,
quality food. Priced appropriately.

We have had yummy steamers at Markey's for 20+ years and have been
disappointed in the past few years about the rising price of them. We
understand, however, that all seafood has dramatically climbed in
price but the portion "boat" is also smaller, too bad!
I started going to Markey's in college and a quart cost $4.95!!

Excellent restaurant. The lobster rolls are fantastic, not
covered in mayonnaise. Lobsters come in all sizes and are cooked
to perfection. But the best feature of Markey's has to be
the steamers. Very generous "quarts" and very clean
steamers. Some places have steamers with lots of sand in the shells,
but Markey's has very clean steamers.

Best place to go for awesome seafood. The building overlooks
the salt marsh and has plenty of entertainment (deck out back
allows you to feed the seagulls and look down at the fish in the
water below). This is a family-style restaurant where you place
your order, get a number, and wait for your order to be called.
The tables are very clean too -- unlike their competitor across
the street.
