Well, we gave Newick's another try. It didn't make it. Newick's
used to be the premier place for seafood in the seacoast area. Portions
were huge, prices were low and the food was excellent. Portions are
now skimpy, prices are high and the food has gone way downhill. Several
of us has various fried foods - shrimp, onion rings, clams, haddock,
etc. the batter was horrible. It had the look, taste and consistency
of paste - gummy and dense. The seafood itself tasted only fair. There
are a lot better places in this area for seafood - try Windjammers in
Rochester, Weathervane in Dover, Petey's in Rye or Johnson's
in New Durham. Just don't waste your money at Newick's.

We recently went there to eat and the food was sub-par. Small portion
on the chicken tender dinner and it was brought out over-cooked (burnt).
This is a hit or a miss type of place. Prices are high for the atmosphere
(isn't any)! Better places to go.

Used to be that Newick's gave you huge portionsd at a good price.
In recent years, however, the portions have dwindled and the prices
have increased. While the food is still good, there are better places
in the seacoast area to get good seafood at a reasonable price.

Being a New Englander and always will be...I live in Florida now...but
Newicks is the BEST!!! A must see when visiting New Hampshire Seacoast....and
when people down here say "seafood restaurant"....we
laugh.....they dont know what Seafood is until they visit Newicks.....when
summer comes and we go north to visit....it is a MUST to go to Newicks....That
is our special treat.
And can you have a nicer view of the water? Hey it isnt "fine dinning".....but
you certainly get what you pay for....THE REAL THING!!!!

Worse restaurant i have been to. If i had wanted to eat with plastic silverware
i would have gone with fast food. The service was terrible we had to ask
4 times for our drinks to be served to us. The waitress was very rude.
I asked for ketchup for my fish and she said and i quote"who in their
right mind would put ketchup on fish" when we were leaving we didn"t
leave a tip because the service was so bad. She actually asked us where
her tip was we told her if the service had been better than she would have
gotten one but hey i said"who gives tips for bad service."

The Newick's have locations in New Hampshire and Maine,
and are by far the best place to get fried clams in New England.
The Dover location is no exception!

With a view overlooking the water, this is an excellent place
to go with the whole family for dinner. While the seafood is the
best around, the kids (or adults) who aren't such big fans
of seafood can always order a burger or chicken fingers. The food
is plentiful (and delicious) and the prices are reasonable.
Go in for you Birthday - you'll get a special treat ;)
