Decent northern Italian cuisine, but not as good as the North End, and
a far cry from New York Italian cuisine.
Seating is cramped for a large group. Service was great initially,
then as the evening progressed, our waitress was nowhere to be found.
Overall the food was good. Appetizers, specials, and some entrees
were creative and delicious. Food portions are generous.
The first impression of the food is that of the bread served while waiting
for appetizers. Their's is pretty basic Italian white bread with
packets of butter - a disappointment when compared with most Italian
restaurants in their class.
They dodn't have Fried Calamari because they have only one fryolator!
Some standard menu items are uninspired and even bland (eg., Fettucini
Alfredo). The wait for the entrees for our group was extremely long
- about an hour and a half from when we arrived. In addition, the time
it took to serve the entrees was almost a half hour.
Prices are $15-$20 for m ...

If you are in the area and love Italian food, Ya Mammas ranks right up
there with the famous italian restaraunts of Boston's North end.
You wont be dissappointed.

I'm from Boston and have eaten in many a fine North End restaurant.
Ya Mamma's is easily as good as any.

They are by far the best! They used to be in a bad part of Nashua--an
even smaller place, if you can imagine that! Worth making a reservation
for welll in advance, I've never had a bad meal here and everyone
I tell about the place loves it too!

My realtor took me to lunch here (read: expense account) while
I was house-hunting. She said it's difficult to get in for
dinner without a reservation, and it was pretty crowded when
we got there for an early lunch! Compared to the slop that passes
for "Italian food" where I live (altho' not much
longer) in Michigan, this restaurant is "da real deal."
Since I was in New England, I had a special scallop and pasta dish
which was so big, I almost couldn't finish it (but did). The
bread was homemade and delicious and I was able to get San Pellegrino,
though the nice lady put ice in the glass (a faux pas in Italy).
My (and my realtor's) only quibble was with the after dinner
caffe latte. Small cup, revolting tasting coffee! I expected
something much more authentic from a place like this, but that's
a small quibble. This restaurant offers catering and one can
buy many of their products which are for sale up front in refrigerated
