There are several chinese restauraunts in the area but this one
is probably the best. The service was a bit slow but the food was
worth it.

Hey, it ain't fine dining...the parking is cramped...the
outside
atmosphere is a cross between Police Street and Back Alley at
night BUT if you want Chinese food at midnight here you go. Located
just off the tracks-somewhat away but -two blocks-from casino
row you don't need a car to get there. The soups are really
traditional-fish
based instead of chicken or beef-and the variety and portion
size is fine. You can eat cheap... and you can eat well.

The historical ambience of this place can't be beat... It
is similar to the origins "a chinese restaurant near the
tracks" called the "Rice Bowl" in my home town
was and is... I asked the owner about the original denizens, and
he told me they got the land off the Union Pacific where they worked
as john coolies, in exchange for back wages denied to them in the
aftermath of completing the line... Actually, look for any Chinese
restaurant near a rail line and you'll get a similar story...
If that ain't a legacy, I don't know what is. It isn't
a high class joint, but the tastes for Chinese food has changed...
It is mostly the "Chop Suey" variety here, with plenty
of dark, dead kind of sauce and wimpy vegetables, and dry rice
that nobody ever eats... but it is authentic

Most of their meat dishes are tough! :( I love Chinese food and
have tried it almost everywhere in Reno and Sparks, and I must
say this is the worst!

The Shrimp Fried Rice is the best, especially at night when they
put the day's scraps in it! I personally recomend the Schuan Chicken.
It's spicy, but it hits the spot!
Overall: 4 Stars
Possible Improvements: Wipe the tables off more; they get really
sticky.
