Only ate here once but was very impressed; good size portions and everything tasted very fresh. I would rate it as good as the places in downtown DC, but much more convenient for us living in the burbs.

In the late 80's, I frequented this restaurant weekly for lunch and dinner. Now, not so often, but it is still a favorite. Situated in a small strip mall, it is a hidden treasure. This was the first President Bush's favorite chinese restaurant, and for good reason. The duck is exquisitely prepared and probably the dish for which this restaurant is best known. This restaurant is affectionately known by my colleagues as "Peking Duck" instead of "Peking Gourmet" for that very reason. The service is great even for large parties. Order several different dishes to try, and ensure that you also select the duck. You will not be disappointed.

I was burnt out on Chinese Restuarants years ago and then I went to the Peking Gourmet Inn. This is probably the best Chinese Resturant in Northern Virginia. Each dish has a distinct taste vs. the ubiquitous canned 'brown sauce' used by most Chinese places. The garlic sprouts and Peking Duck really are excellent. While the walls are covered with pictures of VIP's, the staff gives everone the same VIP treatment.

I have been going to this restaurant for 15 years, and I have always been impressed with the quality of the food and service. Try the Peking Duck - well worth the cost. It seems that they do not use MSG, which is wonderful. Garlic fans will love their garlic sprout specialty dishes. Excellent value for the price.
