The serving sizes are large, so bring your appetite. The staff I found were to be very friendly with smiles on their faces. I enjoyed the upstairs very relaxing. The full menu was nice to choose from. Bring all your friends and enjoy the lunch or night out.

Has gone down-hill over the years. Freezing in the wintertime with ancient space heater available for the lucky couple. Gravy's used to be awesome, now very plain. Menu choice smaller. restroom inconveniently located upstairs thru very crowded bar on a Sat. nite. Think they suffer from the non-smoking law as it used to be quite thick. Wish I could recommend it

I have to say, Molly's isn't what it used to be. We were there on St. Paddy's day when they were debuting their "updated" downstairs restaurant dining area. The place has been turned into a bistro type dining area, and the menu has been changed and pared down. No more Irish Stew with potatoes on the rim of the bowl, boo hiss. I would have thought that an Irish restaurant would shine on St. Paddy's day, but the stew we got was some watered down version of something, with chunks of corned beef and a few meager veggies. We went back once since then and talked with the bartender upstairs who didn't seem overly excited about the new menu either. I don't think we'll be going back here for more than a Guinness or a Cider in the future.

Molly's is consistantly Portsmouth's best restaurant....Period!I've been going there for many years and they never seem to disappoint me or the many people I've brought there. Although I was very happy with the meal, next time I may just skip the food and go right to the desert!!!

Went there for the first time this past weekend and was very happy with the food. Nice atmosphere. We ate in the upstairs bar (not sure why the bar is up those steap stairs?) but it was decorated very cute, and was nice to read the story of Molly Malone and the history of the restaurant. Food was good, the waitress talked us into the Bailey's Brownie Sundae which was EXCELLENT!!! Although I was very happy with the meal, next time I may just skip the food and go right to the desert!!! Can't wait to go back again next time I'm in New Hampshire!!!

had to be the worst meal I've ever eaten..my wife and I ate there the other night......saw a rat scurry by throuth the bar area, the waitress was rude and obnoxious, possibly drunk and high on something...the food was cold and tasteless, and there was a faint aroma of human waste in the air (NOT KIDDING!!!!).........the "chef" was drunk at the bar harassing patrons and making a fool of himself, boasting how great he was, while our food sat dying in front of us, making my wife thoroughly sick.......she threw up later that evening after eating the mussels. A strange looking man with tattoos up and down his arms and greasy hair entered the upstairs bar, dressed in white clothing....but there was enough scum on his uniform to make most people sick....and he's the guy cooking our food??? no wonder my wife got sick!.....the drinks were watered down, and I've heard from many locals that they fill the "expensive" bottles of booze with the cheap stuff, to fool customers and mak ... more

Molly's is consistantly Portsmouth's best restaurant....Period!I'vebeen going there for many years and they never seem to disappoint me or the many people I've brought there. Their seafood chowder is the best, I've had their Prime Rib Chili at the Chili Fest and it was the best(Blue Ribbon)!I just went to their Wild Game Beer Dinner and it was simply fantastic!Give this place a tryand you'll see what I'm talking about.
