Excellent lunch spot. Great portions of delicious food at fair prices. You can play trivia with a wireless keypad that they will give you and you are playing against others in the restaurant and others nationwide. A neat concept I think. Lots of fun, completely enjoyable experience.

Great little pub. Good beer, good burgers and a nice assortment of tasty fried things that will probably haunt you in the morning. Excellent beer selection. Nice little patio with picnic benches if the noise inside gets to be too much for you. Friendly and unpretentious. San Mateo county needs more places like this.

This historic San Mateo haunt attracts an eclectic set of mostly regulars with its down-home, funky atmosphere and solid greasy-spoon pub fare. The beer selection is great -- Jack regularly has some special beers that are generally unavailable elsewhere. And french fries that are simply the best. The weekly evening of live Bluegrass music is fun and different. I like the variety of chicken sandwiches. The burgers are decent but the fish and chips often too greasy. Eveyone else has covered the rest, so I'll just say that I give this place three stars based on the food, but for a casual place, the atmosphere is a 5. Check out the beers of the World Club, national pub newspapers, "dart finishes"-engravings, chile-mania, and baseball (Go Mets!) stuff. Special events have included chili cook-off trips, pub crawls, baseball season openers, chile appreciation day, etc. Fun stuff!

Very good Pub food. The Cajun Cod Bites and Jerk Chicken are great. Numerous dart leagues. Outdoor patio with a variety of hot pepper plants (This is also Home of the Habenero Hamburger). Live jazz and zydeco, check current calendars for times. Walls full of memorabilia. Friendly patrons.

I tried their famous Habanero Burger and it turned out to be a religious experience. I thought I could handle it since I used to have hot stuff eating contests I've tried hot stuff in Korean and Indian restaurants but this tops them all!

Great place for beers on tap. Get into the beers of the world or america club. They often have great outings including pub crawls and chili cook-off events. Jack & wife Deb Curry are some of the greatest folks in town. They also have great live music. Ask the bartender for an update on the month's events. Darts are the game here. Jack's world famous chili is only served on Thursdays for lunch, if you get there late, your out of luck. Also famous for their fish & chips. They are avaliable everyday. Check out the Pub History put together by Jack Curry. Lots of stories not in the history pamphlet that Jack will be happy to share! Cheers!
