The steaks at Gorat's were excellent. The side dishes which for
me were hash browns and spaghetti were average. The ambience of the
restaurant and the bar with live music was very nice. I would definitely
reccommend this establishment.
The resturant is old. Has regular customers that keep coming
back. Warren Buttet. Established menu that doesn't seem
to have changed over the years. I was not impressed. I had a T-bone
steak that was quiet thin (less that 3/4 inch). They serve pasta
with steaks (?).
One of the older Omaha steakhouses that has a longstanding reputation
for quality steaks. The facility is older, but in a way, it adds
to the dining experience at Gorat's....kind of a reminder
of what the top notch Omaha steak houses were like in years/decades
past. Quality beef and plentiful portions of whatever is ordered....and
reasonably priced as well. Have been to Gorat's with a number
of out of town guests, and none have been disappointed.......adds
a little spice to note that Warren Buffett and Bill Gates are also
occasional diners at the establishment. All in all, Gorat's
is solid dining with a seasoned and friendly wait staff!

I think that this perticular restraunt needs a little work, but
the food is what will keep you coming back. Friendly faces and
reasonable prices are good too!
This restaurant is dated, but the clientele doesn't seem to care.
Don't be surprised to see Warren Buffet eating lunch there! The
steaks/seafood are great. The staff does have a tendency to bring
out cold side dishes, but you may not even care, with the quality
of steaks they serve; you will be too busy enjoying them!
the food is great, but the restuaraunt needs some updating the
place smells like mold time to renovate the place the food is always
great but the smell kinda naseates me when i eat.
If you look behind the port cochere, itself sort of a 1960s relic,
it's plain to see that this place started as a private home, then
expanded in a willy-nilly fashion before ending up in its cuurent
configuration. It's still simaewhat small, yet it's still very
successful in a town that sprouted oversize steakhouses that
finally gave way to the casin-operated restaurants. Through
all of this, Gorat's kept doind what it's always done: namely,
very good food at very fair prices. Steak is the main event here
as opne might expect from a town that was once the beef capital
of the USA. It's all good meat, it comes out the way you ordered
it and it comes in the classic Omaha manner: with salad and potato
AMD pasta. If you're truly hungry when you arrive, start with
their onion rings (truly glorious).
