This place is super authentic taiwanese cuisine. I literally felt
like I was back in Taiwan. Go on the weekends where they have specials
chinese tapa-like breakfast/brunch. I highly recommend it!

Great place to eat! Family oriented and good service. Their taiwanese
food is the best. Spicy beef noodle soup and stinky tofu is recommended!

Good foods at good prices. Cantonese and Taiwanese dishes with
some Hakka flavors. Order from the English menu, and you get
all good Chinese-American dishes. We tried broccoli and rock
cod
in black bean sauce and they are terrific.
If you read Chinese, you have more choices from the Chinese menu,
and items listed on
walls. There are a lot of selections. When I get a chance to
try more. I will post it here.

Although the name sounds a bit dubious this place serves
anything authentic, China Bee is actually quite good and
does the job in dishing out savory, tasty Taiwanese dishes.
Try the "stink tofu" which is really putrid but goes great
with the chili infused sauce. The "tan tan" noodles are nicely
done, with a peanut sauce base. Other things to go for:
Shanghai noodles, the sour/hot noodles, the shredded chicken
noodles and the salty plum drinks.
For even more authentic fares, go for breakfast on the weekends
when they serve soybean milk w/ green onion cakes. Yum yum.
For those familiar with the disappointed "Taiwanese Restaurant"
in Berkeley and on Clement St., drop them (and quick), then
run down the Pen to San Mateo for true Taiwan dishes.

This is a great Chinese restaurant! The food was very
good, with a very distinctive flavor. Each of the entrees
are in the $4.00 range, but the servings are small so
you end up ordering about two entrees per person. So
your meal isn't cheap, though it's not outrageous for
the food you're getting. The entrees themsleves are
varied, very good and tasteful.
The place is smallish, the decor bland, but the service
is one of the most friendliest I've encountered in
any restaurant.
I'd like to go there again.

China Bee is the place to go in San Mateo for down-home Taiwanese cooking.
