My unit would come up to Ft. Sill periodically for training, and
we'd always make a trip out to here. I used to love this place.
It is full of neat wonky stuff like moose heads, hubcaps, a great
jukebox, and the best fried catfish I have ever found. It is a whole
catfish on the bone, fills up your (large) plate and well worth
the eating! Of course, these memories are from the late '80's--
hopefully it hasn't changed much!

If you are near the Wichita Mountain reserve then drive by the
Old Plantation. It faces and old waterway that still runs through
the town. The food is good and the atmosphere is rustic. We have
always had the sandwiches for lunch and they were really good.
I am partial to ham and cheese with ranch dressing or the club with
fries. The steaks they say are really good. But I personally don't
know, they smell good and look good though. If nothing else you
will enjoy a glass of tea while looking at the rustic artifacts
around the plantation.

The only problem with here is that it's really such a long drive
to get to Medicine Park - Groovy little town, very cute and very
quaint, which makes this restaurant worth the time if you ever
make it out this far.
