Gawd, what a bloody dump! I like eating out for breakfast, but
needn't come here again. The coffee's so thin, ya'd
think it was made of nylon! The small room is crowded and just stinks
of cigarette smoke. One guy here told me another name for Oma's
is "The Smoke Room." Ya think? I hate smelling of food
and smoke when I come from somewhere, so forget this place if you
are like me. Couldn't taste the food for all the puffing,
so don't know if it was good or not. But cheap it ain't!

Another Charlevoix institution, beloved by tourists and townies
alike - except me. What you see is what you get -- namely, breakfast.
"Oma" means "Grandmother" in German & I've yet to figure out if
the owner is German or just has a funny name. Open early until 2
PM, located in Oleson's Plaza downtown, Oma's is a small, one-room
dining facility which mixes smokers and non-smokers, which
is a reason I don't go. I loathe the coffee here, and find the various
meals overpriced and sometimes undercooked. My husband says
I'm too critical, but he's from here and I'm not, and he has become
a hick. There is nothing wrong with this place, but it is not for
me. It's very small and narrow in the dining area and I feel like
I could kiss my neighbor, that's how close he is. I feel that Flapjack
in this town is the better bet, but don't take my word for it!
