The Fischer Platz is the outdoor area of this fine restaurant which
is known for their famous chicken dinner. You can choose some of the
same menu items from the small outdoor menu for a lot less money. We had
the Frankenmuth Style Chicken Dinner and the Wiener Schnitzel dinner
with a couple reasonably priced 24oz beers ($5/ea) and enjoyed listening
to live polka music in the shade. It was very good.

The food's good. While those who've been to Germany skoff
at the authenticity, it is the atmosphere that is the driving force
here. Dining at the Bavarian Inn is practically an event. They've
skimped on the portions the last couple years, it seems, but the food
is good enough to let that pass. Outstanding chicken soup, and don't
pass on those rhubarb preserves they serve with your stollen before
each meal.

Stayed at the motel so got a 1/2 off coupon thank goodness for the
price. Chicken was not the best I've ever had. Not much for
a chicken breast, they seem to cut them in a 1/4 piece. Canned veggies,
canned gravy, instant taters, pastey noodles, mrs. grass soup
or compariable, hard bread basket, coleslaw rather odd taste.
Waitress very nice, offered to go containers to take remaining
eats home. Not apt to go back, Ponderosa, or another buffet would
suit me fine and much better price for more variety any ways.

Good food, but not very german, there was one waiter who could
speak german, but not very fluently, but at least he tried, I cant
speak it so i cant complain. Little bit on the overpriced side
though.

I would love to know what is Bavarian about this place other than
its name. If I ever give up the law, I may just open a German bistro
or something just to show Americans what real German fare is all
about. Not one person here spoke German, it was crowded and the
service was slow. Good thing no one spoke German here, though,
since I was able to converse with my dining partners auf Deutsch
and make nasty comments about the food ... and no one knew. As I
said to my host, "Ohne mich, " which is the German
expression for "Count Me Out." Never again.

Is there a tunnel tht runs under the street between this place
and Zender's? This is a tourist trap that does make a decent family
style fried chicken dinner. The rest of the "German" fare is not
very authentic, but it's all in the fun. Expect long lines on the
weekends and some difficulty parking. Fun for the kiddies.

Might be a long drive but definitely worth it. The chicken dinners
are great and you might have to wait but make a reservation and
go and enjoy the beautiful town. This is a great place to spend
some family time.

Great food and service... Take the family or friends, not for
romantic dinner but a great place to be a family or to be social
and get stuffed with great chicken...

Good chicken!! Prepare yourself for a feast. Good service after
a long wait to get in. Go for lunch, its faster. The town has some
great shops you won't find the like of anywhere else. Worth the
trip.
