The Flatiron is the most underrated restaurant in Chef Kent Rigsby's
stable. The interior is narrow, but it exudes a certain charm
from the black and white checkerboard tile to the mustard yellow
walls.

The food is excellent yet reasonably priced. If you're not
sure what you are hungry for, try the daily specials. I had a fish
dish in a vodka pepper sauce that was absolutely superb.

Sandwiches are a prominent part of the menu, and the ones I have
sampled are excellent. They do a great Oyster Po'Boy (sub
sandwich for those of you who've never ventured to New Orleans),
and an excellent pulled pork sandwich. They smoke the pork themselves
in a cooker they have in the back of the restaurant.

Also try their fries, which are one of the sides for their sandwiches.
They are fresh cut and a bit on the greasy side, kind of like the
french fries you'd find at a county fair. Drizzle them with
vinegar and dip them in Flatiron's barbecue sauce and you'll
think that's a meal all by itself.

There is a small bar with the usual Guiness and friends on tap.
They rotate one beer on the tap, which may be something from the
Great Lakes Brewery. If the place is full, which doesn't
take much, find yourself a spot at the bar, order a beer, and wait
to enjoy some of the best casual dining Columbus has to offer.
