This quiet restaurant at the South end of Royal Oak, across from Oakland Community College is a little bit different from the others in the area. No themes, no pretensions, no attitude - there's plenty of that up the street. What you'll find at Jimi's is plain decor, friendly, down-home staff and simple, satisfying fare. On Sunday mornings you might have to wait a few minutes for a table, as it seems this is the place to meet and eat after church services. A banquet room has been added and is available for large or small groups from funeral lunches, club meetings to full wedding receptions. Voted as a “best breakfast” spot more than once, make sure you pay attention to the breakfast specials. A steal at less than five bucks, the "eye opener" (three farm fresh eggs any style, two slices of bacon, two sausage links, ham, pineapple ring, hash browns AND toast) is enough to fill anyone up.
