I DO NOT RECCOMEND this restaurant - I've decided to try this place out - and I have given it several chances - and each time I order their signature Macs Burger, it truly tastes like something that came out of a fast food joint. I dont understand how this place stays in business - their food is horrible and the servers are extremely obnoxious.

This place is GROSS. I don't know what people here consider good food, but Mac's is nowhere near it. I guess it makes sense as to how old these reviews are. The Scottish Eggs are maybe a 3/10, I would not give it one point higher. I was actually excited to try them having just moved here from Detroit. I got the onion rings, which were boasted by my server as being "excellent" and they were literally a pile of greasy onion straws, definately not something I would call "onion rings." Save yourself your time and don't bother!

Mac's is GREAT! It has a nice, laid-back atmosphere, the servers are extremely friendly and efficient, and their burgers are awesome! Definitely try the Mac Burger - the coleslaw/bacon/burger combo is great, trust me. Great steak fries too. We were going to try the Scotch Egg, but at $4.25 for one, we gave it a miss (shame). Although parking isn't bad when we go for lunch, I imagine it can be a pain during the evening. Mac's is in a great location though - it's nice to walk off lunch browsing the shops nearby.

Great little Scottish pub. Can't beat the happy hour deals, or the Tuesday night wing deal ($2.95/lb or about 10 healthy wings). Bartenders are very friendly. Sunday and Monday nights are slow so the bartender usually brings in a movie, instead of playing music. Only two TV's, however.

I tend to favor Mac's for the fine selection of beers rather than the food, but when I do eat here, I always get a healthy portion of good food at a good price.

Mac's is one of my favorite places in town. They actually make Scottish food tasty. Their sandwiches are huge, their fries are delicious, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. The crowd, like the staff, is always friendly. Finally, the location is perfect.

Mac's has wonderful scottish food. Yes, I did use "wonderful" and "scottish food" in the same sentence, on purpose. Also tolerable to good typical American cuisine. What makes this place special is the ambiance, decor, and bar, and of course location location location. Heart of Short North, store and galleries galore.
