I have always heard of the uniqueness of this restaurant. When I arrived at 10am Saturday morning there was a tour bus on site plus many patrons. The service was excellent. The employees have the attitude of getting the meal right. When I asked for crispy fries that stated no problem and attempted to get it right. However I was disappointed in the other items I ordered. I ordered the barbecue sandwich and an unsweetened iced tea. Neither of thise items had any flavor. Also the barbecue sauce had no flavor. About the only thing that had any flavor was the tomato ketchup, which came directly from a can. Therefore with all the people dining there the only thing I can say is that I must have ordered the wrong things.

I was in Spartanburg today on business and since I have heard about the Beacon all of my life I decided to try it for lunch. I hate to say it but I was disappointed. I found the chili was not really chili at all but merely fried ground beef. The onion rings were under cooked and limp. I paid $9.70 for a chili burger a-plenty and an ice tea. The food was plentiful and I did not leave hungry but I also did not enjoy it. The place is run down and needs considerable maintenance. Oh well........I suppose everyone needs to go there ONCE. I have done it now and don't need to ever do it again.

This place is known from coast to coast. if you want some food you need to come here. i promise you will not leave hungry. the hash-a-plenty is enought to feed 4 people. they also offer curb hop servive. these guys have been doing this since way before i can even remember. my dad says they done it way befor ei was even born. this is a very familiar place in spartnaburg. go try it. i promise u will not be disappointed.

The Beacon is so famous for their food(and i'm not kidding either). The Beacon has the best onion rings in the USA! This palce may not have the best decor in the world, but its food certainly makes up for the decor. Stick with a burger you can't go wrong there and the sweet tea is some of the best you'll ever have.

You have got to try this place if you ever go to spartanburg. i dont live in spartanburg but trust me i make trips there just so i can eat at the beacon. i promise you that it will be an experience you will NEVER EVER forget. i crave their chilicheese burger a plenty & their hash a plenty. their sweet tea is the absolute best in SC. i was raised on the beacon food. if you prefer to eat inside the place just please know what you want to eat before you get in line. DO NOT HOLD UP THE LINE. i prefer the car hop service. what is so amazing is that these guys NEVER write anything down when you place your order & it is NEVER WRONG. trust me if you try it once you will be back many many times afterwards. they make their onion rings from scratch. they did a study on the beacon. they actually use 10, 000 lbs of onions a WEEK. yes i said a WEEK. beware, this is the grease pit of SC

For drive in food at its best this is the place to go. Like the former owner Mr. White once said, "Good food at a fair price." He told the truth and it is still the truth today. If you are within 100 miles it is worth the trip to visit the Beacon.
