In search for a good Italian Restaurant for Sat., April
13, 1996 I went into the BARG database and found this
wonderful little restaurant. They do take reservations
for parties of 3 or more. Fortunatly for us there was a
cancellation and they were able to squeeze my party of 4
in at 7PM. Between us we ordered the Asparagi Caldo
- Antipasti - Asparagus salad with prosciutto, radischio,
and toasted breacrumbs, it was wonderful. We also had
ministrone soup which was excellent, and two of us shared
a Pasta dish, Fusili Contadino, which had a unique blend
of flavors. For main dishes, we ordered the following:
Salmone,baked and served over a bed of greens with basil pesto, capers, and
lemon. New York peppercorn steak in a brandy-cream sauce,
Sea scallops with kalamata olives, and Tortelli d'Asparagi.
All the main dishes were excellent with the excemption of
the scallops (my dish). The scallops were flavorless, and the
kalamata flavor, overpowering. I would not suggest this dish.
For dessert we shared Tiramisu which was recommended and it
was sensational, and (excuse my spelling) Zabaglione, which
was also terrific.
The service was excellent, down to the waiter replacing the
bottle of wine we were trying for the first time and didn't
like. It was not expected, but certainly appreciated.
We had a great dining experience and will certainly return.
