For years, South Charlotte diners have come to the Azteca on Woodlawn expecting to need a carry-out box for dinner leftovers. Most people just can't eat that much arroz con pollo in one sitting. Now North Charlotte diners can also stuff themselves with piping hot (and some spicy hot) fare. The opening of the second Charlotte Azteca was delayed because the ornately carved furniture from Mexico was still en route. Now inside, tall-backed booths, colorful inlaid tile tables and rock-ringed arches create a distinctive South-of-the-Border ambience. All your molten cheese, meat and tomato favorites are here, along with different options such as enchiladas rancheros, chorizo burritos and garlic prawns. Azteca is a great place to create a scene on someone's birthday. The staff will sing to the birthday honoree in Spanish and English, make the birthday person wear a sombrero, and take a photo for lasting amusement value

This one has decent food but nothing that really jumps out at me. The Cheese Enchilada's are pretty good and the Quesadia's are good but not mind blowing. A little be pricey with drinks.

I really love mexican restaraunts and this is the best I've had so far. The quality of food is very good, good portions and of course-all you can eat chips and salsa. Very reasonably priced. Give this one a try!

This is one of the best mexican places around... The salsa is the best different from what you are use to but SO much better! I come for the salsa and chips... Thought the price is average for what you get and the food is excellent.

ugh... not to sure about this one. On the way home from a banquet we decided to stop... buffet special...and nothing was to special about it. Very disappointed and quite expensive for what we received. Wouldn't go back. sorry.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!! We spent 8 years in Texas, and Azteca in Charlotte is a better Mexican restaurant than most of the ones we ate at there. I love this place. Among my favorites is the Deluxe Burrito. Also, the Cheese Dip is great with the Chips. And for dessert, the Deep-Fried Ice Cream is awesome.
