Favorite recent visit in SF, which is a really good restaurant town, I think. Small and a bit secluded, but fabulous food, and the atmosphere is wonderful. Wait staff is just right - not too conspicuous, and not too difficult to find. Appetizers were just the right size, and really good, and entrees were wonderful. Great wine list. Go back.

this is one of our favorite restaurants in San Francisco. My wife and I think it is better than some other well-known and very expensive restaurants we have been to in SF. We are always pleased when we go there. We think the SF Chronicle reviewers don't rate it high enough.

Frascati is that neighborhood restaurant that everybody wishes graced the corner across from their apartment. The cuisine maintains that perfect balance between innovation and comfort, the ambiance exudes warmth, and the attentive staff manages to be both professionally courteous and friendly at the same time. The entrees are of perfect proportions (neither too much nor too little), but the stars of the menu are the smaller plates and desserts. Although the quail appears and disappears off the menu on a seasonal basis, nab it if you have a chance. If only my waistline could justify a meal here every week, I certainly would. While the Union Square restaurants do a wonderful job of delivering meals-as-entertainment in glitzy dining rooms, for an honest, wonderful, well-priced meal from an outstanding, understated kitchen, Frascati garners top-honors in San Francisco.

They made me feel very comfortable as a single diner. I skipped the appetizer menu and went straight to a frenched double pork chop in a brandy reduction sauce presented atop a solid foundation of rough smashed potatoes. The attentive waitstaff seemed to work the room as a team providing seamless service from table to table. At the point where they caught me gnawing on the bone they offered me the dessert menu and sold me on their signature black and white bread pudding, I was not disappointed. The wine list is varied and there is a reserve listing for those special occassions. Overall a nice dining experience.

I had some of the best salmon I've ever had here. I was quite impressed by the constant attention to my water glass. Our waiter was extremely lacking in confidance, but the food was so good that overlooked it. Hopefully he was just new. If you have to sit inside, try to get a table up in the balcony - a good spot for those going incognito.

A definite must! Every dish is perfectly balanced and delicious. Loved the salad with gorgonzola, walnuts and maple viniagrette. Loved the pork chop (as soft as filet mignon). Service is excellent, atmosphere is warm and comfortable.

Frascati is one of those restaurants that always does well no matter what kind of food they put on their menu. It is probably one of the best restaurants in the City. The husband/wife chef team graduated from the CIA in New York and they've obviously learned well. Appetizers are a must as the desserts are less stellar than the main dishes and appetizers.

They have the best food in the city. The chefs are a husband and wife team. Everything on the menu is great. The food is generous in portion and the waiters are very nice. Order a few of the apetizers to share. The resaturant is very cozy and try to sit outside if it's warm enough. If you go to Frascati once, you will definitely go back.
