Suprised by the fare and quality of the food, as the name and previous owners must have been aiming for a different dining experience. Currently, it is fine linen, high service, near fancy food but with a price that is slightly excessive, especially for its locale. Food did taste excellent. Probably not a bring the kids type of place.

This is the most amazing place I have ever eaten!! The food was phenominal and the wine list was superb! The servers could not have been more helpful or friendly. The atmosphere is great, with all the artwork done by a local artist. I could not believe such a fantastic lowcountry restaurant was in downtown Wake Forest! In talking to the server, I found out that the chef was trained in Charleston, SC, and his wife is from Wake Forest. If you have not been here, it is definately worth the trip! Tell them Alex sent you!

Birkenstock - high quality sandles worn my radical, anti-establishment long-hairs right? <br> Burkenstocks - high quality foo-foo restaurant with linen table cloths and high brow cuisine. <br> Do not let the name fool you. This is not an artsy-fartsy bohemian experience. The wait staff wear tuxedo style shirts, bistro aprons, etc. The Bar & Grill is also a misnomer. Yes they have a bar and yes they grill, but it is far from a Bar and Grill. <br> The food, however, is excellent. A bit pricey, but very fitting to the embience. <br> A nice evening out if you live the country club life, drive a cadillac and recently joined AARP.

You don't just get served food, you get served a work of art. Eclectic dining. Whirlwind of taste. Fusions of all sorts. The seafood was fresh, The sauces were perfect and the wine is tastefully chosen. The waitstaff was very friendly and very helpful. I will be going to this restaurant for many special occasions. I had never heard of it, my wife, a friend and I just walked in and got much more than we simply expected. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. The dishes are pricey but well worth it when you want to treat yourself or anyone to a special occasion.
