Nothing very special, and a bit out of place in State College. We went two times; the service is good, the atmosphere bland, the menu covers the Creole/Cajun basics, but none of the 4 entrees we sampled was much like the fare one might find in the Bayou country. It has been around for quite some time, though, but then again, most restaraunts in State College are crowded.

a wonderful intmate setting a large selction of wins and sprits. a very good menu albet a bit on the expensive side an average cost for a dinner for 2 runs about $50-$100 depending on drinks, entree, apitzers, and dessert. very intmate seting an excellent waitstaff on average i have seen most people tip upwards of 20% or more. if you need a lovely place to dien for any special occision with just you and your spouse/girl/boy friend then this is the place to go. you will love the place.

Great cajun food. Make a reservation you won't just walk in that should speak volumes in its own. Be prepared to break out the wallet.

Their food is quite good--but it is a little expensive (maybe more so than it should be). Theu have an extensive wine list as well, which is good. (Again, they severely mark up the price on the wine--but so does everybody else.) The service is quite good--friendly, helpful--really a step above the other places downtown.

Spat's Cafe is in my opinion one of the best restaurants in State College. Not only that, but as far as "themed" food goes, their food is very close to true Cajun food. I have been to New Orleans and the food is amazingly true to form, with dishes such as Gator Sausage(and yes it's real gator), CColored Greens, and other southern dishes. <br>

Their wine selection is excellent and they do suggest certain wines to go with certain foods which is nice for someone who's not too familiar with wine/food pairing. They also offer some truly original southern mixed drinks which are excellent.

The atmosphere is exceptionally authentic and it makes you feel like your sitting in a real N'awlins cafe. THe staff is very friendly and service is excellent. I highly reccommend Spat's to anyone.

We have been to Spats 2 times in three months. The salads were a bit old and were obviously made up well in advance, but the entrees were pleasant enough. The atmosphere is a bit crowded and the overall theme of the restaurant is not clear, although it is billed as cajun/creole. It is somewhat hard to get a table on any given evening, so call a day ahead.

The overall experience was pleasant and the service was courteous and friendly.

Our bills averaged about 70$/couple with tip.

spats has a very nice location on the corner downtown but I feel that they could put more effort into the atmosphere. There soups are good but I feel they have a lot to work on.

5 starts---totally adheres to quality. Diverse menu, cajun/new orleans style...nothing else like it in the entire region. If you're in town, make it a point to stop here, you won't regret it. I like to take company there when they come to town.

This is one of the best spots in State College to dine. They have a nice selection on their menu, mostly cajun dishes. They have wine tasting events from time to time, very nice! They pair the wine selections with samples of their dishes, what more could you want?

This is one of the best, if not THE best restaurant in State College. Their speciality is cajun food, but they do have other types as well. They do have a vast wine selection, and the

menu even includes suggested beverages for the entrees. They

even include regional beers from the New Orleans area. If you're planning to go, definitley call for a reservation of you can get

one! They do get a bit pricey for small town, with drinks, appetizers, entree, and maybe dessert, you can easily spend $60-80 for a couple.
