We do a lot of traveling and love to dine out. We try and hit new places in every city we go. This is one of the places we went, and absolutely loved it. You will be hard pressed to find a better eatery than this.

If you're in town, and you're NEVER had a Primanti sandwich, you're missing a TON of fun! Literally! Slap on slaw and fries to a sandwich and you got a burgh thing going on! :) Superb, and I've never had a bad experience there...one thing I miss about being outta state is primanti's.

greatest sandwhich idea of all time-fries and slaw on a sandwhich. I like to pour a lot of hot sauce on mine to spice it up. Pretty filling at a reasonable price. Highly recommend trying one at least once!

this place was kind of a shock1 when i got my meal and it had french fries and cole slaw right on it!even thoe it was upseting to have spent that much on a meal. after tasting it, i feel that it was worth the money. i would say don't knock it untill you tried it.

Very overrated. Reminds me of the salisbury steaks they used to serve in grade school.

This is a great restaurant for a quick meal on the go. It has expanded to include restuarants on Rt.60. The Primanti's in the Strip District is open 24 hrs. So, if you are in the mood at 4am, this is the place to go.

This restaurant is the reason that I want to move home to Pittsburgh. Their sandwiches were originally designed for truck drivers. In the days before refrigeration, truckers would get huge blocks of ice in downtown Pittsburgh and pick up produce or meats and fish in the strip district. They would get a sandwich with coleslaw, fries, their favorite meat, their favorite condiments, and even a fried egg on it. This way they could eat a whole meal easily while they were driving. Hopefully, they would get to their destination before the ice melted too! You must try this place out!!!

This is one of Pittsburgh's finest. Historic location that everyone who visits needs to see. Any sandwich is a meal. History is that truckers in the 20's didn't have time to sit down, so they put the whole meal on the bread and took it on the road. But, I digress.

GREAT FOOD! Kinda hard to find, tucked away next to large buildings, cole slaw and fries on the sanwiches, huge, great. I love it.

Going to Pittsburgh and not eating here is like going to Philly and not getting a steak & cheese. Great sandwiches, Pittsburgh people.
Recommendation: Corned Beef!!! Oh yeah. Open late, drinks served until about 2:45am.

Pittsburgh's finest sandwichs. French fries and coleslaw

on every sandwich.Combination may sound a bit wierd but try it. You will like it. Bar service is very good considering how busy this place can get. Well worth the visit.

Primanti's is the signature sandwich of Pittsburgh. It was even featured on food network. It is just the beat sandwich around. I like the Cajun chicken the best. And the cheesesteak is tasty as well.

Odd concept - but a must do for anyone visiting Pittsburgh for a week or even a weekend. Not my favorite, but it's a neat tasting sandwich with everyone rolled into one.

I finally had my primanti experience after 4 yrs of living in Pittsburgh, I was totally amazed at how awesome the sandwich was. The cheese boat rocks. Even if you think it sounds wierd to have fries and cole slaw on a sandwich(like i did) try it, you will love it like everyone else here does. Especially after a good drinking night.

Oh yum. Pittsburgh's finest invention. French fries and coleslaw on every sandwich... sounds strange, but you'll get hooked. Also a bar atmosphere, which is great... supremely crowded once the bars close (great food when you are drinking). GO THERE!

Primanti's is famed for its great sandwiches, which have French fries and coleslaw on them.
The big, full sandwiches are a meal in themselves, and the Capicola and Cajun chicken are standouts. I also highly recommend the cheesefries boat.
The atmosphere is great; it feels like Pittsburgh.

Their food is of a different type. it has a peculiar, but pretty good taste; they put your cole slaw, french fries, and meat all on you sandwich. it is not something i could eat everyday but i like to eat there every once in a while. i would recommend it for something totally different. the restaraunt is not the cleanest though.
