The waitstaff is awful and very unproffesional. My waitress made me wait 15 minutes for a cup of coffee. I ordered a simple breakfast and not only did I wait another 25 mintues but it was completly wrong! The restaurant is dirty and unorganzied. Everything is way to expensive for the below average food and service. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jays is a very large, 24-hour, fifties-decorated diner. Those who like good service with weak coffee may well like this diner very much. I did. I saw mention on the web that the breakfast menu was rather ordinary. An omelette with artichokes and feta cheese is commonplace? The menu was rather sizable and diversified. I ordered a Mexican omelette despite the waitress kindly warning it only had salsa and cheese. I found it quite good and, surprisingly, the hash browns rather nicely seasoned with some unknown spice or spices. My wife got pancakes that could have used another egg in the batter and scrambled eggs that tasted like that they could have been made from the dehydrated eggs people used to detest. The eggs were probably scrambled with water - too much water. Thus I found the diner quite good but I could never drag my wife to the place again. The way things go sometimes. Best, Terry

Fantastic place for family or a date. The food is fab and the service fast and friendly. Prices are quite within reason also. Sometimes the wait is a bit much, but well worth it.

Before the renovations the atmosphere was a charming, but cramp diner. Now with a new and spacious seating in the old chrome styling, Jays has improved on what was/is a Rochester Favorite. The food quality is very good for the price and servings are generous propotioned to leave you satisfied and not needing to bring leftovers home.

Very nice diner with a retro-theme. The wait staff is very friendly. My wife asked the waitress about a couple of meals and she was very straightforward about the selections and helped steer my wife towards what ended up as a very gratifying meal. <br>

Prices are kind of steep, but what else do you expect from a themed-diner type of restaurant? Food was very good, so it made up for the cost.

This dinner has been around for many years, but has had a major face lift recently. Décor done in the 1950's, very nice. The food is mostly the good old stand bys like meat loaf, stake, some seafood and so on. The meals are average to a bit above average, but you get a good size portion for a good price. Jays is known for its delicious Clam Chowder and wide variety of tasty deserts. The service wasn't that good before, but they have hired a new crew of servers, and the service is much better. It is one of the few places in the area that you can get a decent meal for a good price.

This is one of the great diners in Rochester. Good food for a reasonable price. Since the renevations the atmosphere is much better. Staff is always friendly.

Nice diner atmosphere. I go here several times a month if not

on a weekly basis. Run by a family that is consistently pleasant to speak to--really good people. Good food. Good place!

This diner is where many locals hangout for all day food. It's a diner atomshere, there is always a good amount of cars there all day. To be honest I'm not to up to date on there quality of food, I don't get out that way much any more. Last time I was there it was very good, the food is homemade style.Nothing fancy.
