Bistro Clovis has a new chef on the stove...the menu continues to change
...so expect to find some new tasty treasures on your next visit. Speaking
with Max (the owner) I learned that the Chef is from France and spent
some time working at Le Tour D'Argent in Paris. He is very passionate
about his work and makes all his stocks from scratch. His stuffed chicken
is to die for...Max can introduce you to some great French as well as
Californian wines.
I highly recommend a visit. Due to the Opera and Symphony crowds reservations
are definately in order. This is a great place to have a good conversation...and
a beautiful chocolate mousse cake.

This is one of the city's best kept secrets. Excellent food well
prepared and imaginative, catholic french wine list and a bistro
ambience. A little unpretentious for San Francisco but that
is what makes it all the better!

This place has potential. The food is good, the ambiance is so-so.
What it needs is spirit. I think it lives under the shadow of
Zuni Cafe, which is one block up Market Street. The winetasting
program, which features interesting French wines, is a nice idea.
