If you're vegetarian and want some really tasty vittles,
this is the place. If you're a carnivore and would like
to see what the herbivores eat and would like to try to be
an omnivore during lunch, this is also the place. So far,
almost everything I've tried in their lunch menu was delicious.
I highly recomment the lettuce roll; the filling is scrumptuous.
And remember to ask for the hoisin sauce. The veggie tempura is
like any other tempura, but with their hot, garlic sauce, this
dish comes alive. Go for the brown rice. It's tastier than
plain steamed, white rice. The buckwheat noodles with peanut
sause was very good. The only dish that I found interesting,
but still palatable was this taro dish. It was too sweet to be
considered savory. Overall, this restaurant is a keeper.

Discovered Pureland a few years ago when my wife's Asian supervisor
organized a dinner there. We went on our own shortly after and found
the atmosphere very pleasant, and the food great.
Some of my favorites are mushroom skewers as an appetizer, and Egg Fu
Yung as a main dish. I know, Egg Fu Yung sounds so ordinary, but at
Pureland, it is delicious. It is full of veggies and quite thick,
rather than a flat pancake. The serving is ample for 2 or 3.
Another favorite is dice vegetables in lettuce leaves with pine
nuts. I have to admit, I have copied this dish and served it to guests
in my own home. They love it. !
All diners get a uniquely cut half orange for dessert. Go there, and
let me know what you ordered and how you liked it.
