One of the best steakhouses in the city (maybe even better than Peter Luger's!, and certainly more accesible). It is the place where the city's power brokers come to relax, definitely a clubby feel to it! The decor is traditional steakhouse, but wide and expansive, the waiters are incredible and the steaks are just perfect. Try the portherhouse, you won't be disappointed. And the wine list is incredible as well, and very reasonably priced! A true NYC steakhouse experience!

Sparks has a terrific and reasonably priced wine list, so you can order a bottle or two to go with their first-rate steaks. Since they acquired the space next door, there are more tables (less waiting) and the bar is bigger (more comfortable waiting). There isn't much not to like about Sparks, and there is a lot to like.

Just went very recently and was quite dissappointed, particularly for the money. The steak was not cooked particularly well, and the cut was ok but not great. I have done much better elsewhere, like the place next to the Chrysler building (cant remember the name). I was in a large group, so maybe that was the issue. But the wine list was also poor, and the staff mediocre. This place has really gone down hill in the past couple of years

This place serves a great steak. The decor is exactly what you would expect from a prohibition era mens dining hall. Wood panel and dark grimey carpets and all. I would definately go back.
