We tried this restaurant at lunchtime. This "historic" site was moldy-smelling enough to set off my allergies. Both of our orders were wrong and we waited a long time for our waitress to show up again to tell her. My second lunch still wasn't quite what I ordered but by this time we had waited so long that I decided to take what I could get. Service continued to be slow or non-existent even though there weren't many full tables. Our food was ordinary but pricey, including sodas for $1.50 each, no refills. I think this is one of those places that keeps going on reputation only. Once you've waited to get in for dinner (all but impossible without reservations) and dropped a nice chunk of cash, you'd have to tell yourself "this place MUST be good..."

Great food and I can order anything that isn't on the menu and the owner always remembers your name and make an appoint to come over and say "Hi".

Great food and great barmaid on Tues-Fridays in the upstairs bar. The croad is great also.

I've only eaten here for lunch, but it was great! The place was not too busy and the server was very friendly. The only thing I could see that needed improvement was the time it took to prepare our sandwiches and ravioli. We were not in a hurry but I saw one couple have the majority wrapped to go because their lunch period had run out at work before they had time to eat. An express menu would be a good idea here for those in a hurry! We were pleased with the food and will return.

Food is served promptly. Atmosphere is colonial American. Was at one time an actual hotel. they make the best burgers and the best salmon with mustard sauce.
