Yelled @ by "Manager" | $36: Salty-Cold Chicken & the
Hair-In-Ravioli Special...
We have eaten here many times and if you are in a hurry, whether it is lunch
or dinner do not even attempt to eat here. I have never eaten inside the
restaurant for the fact it looks like pack sardines stuffed into a tacky
Italian grandma's rest home. Outside is pretty okay. except for
the large bird crap we had on the tablecloth conveniently covered by
a plate!
That aside, we always have to wait for a server to seat us. At least 5 minutes.
This is lunch. This particular day we were greeted by a waitress that
obviously lives on red bulls or uppers because she was so loud and high
strung, maybe a bit too friendly but I am sure she meant well.
First we were served our hard as a rock cold bread that took at least 10
minutes and it took quite a while to get something to get a drink. There
were only our table of 2 and a table of 4 outside. It was not crammed or
terribly busy unless they only have one waitress to work the entire
restaurant, which might be the case.
We ordered the pea soup, it was tasty but cooler than lukewarm. We concluded
that maybe this pea soup is suppose to be served cold, so we ate it with
our really hard bread, with no spoon. We never got a spoon so we had to
lap it up with our bread and like puppies. When we were finally finished
so she decided to show up and bring us a spoon. Too late, we finished it
by sitting there for 10 minutes.
When we finally got our courses, I ordered the Ravioli of the Day, supposedly
4 cheese and Pollo Picatta. It arrived and needless to say it was once
again cooler than lukewarm. The Pollo Picatta tasted like it had gotten
a salt dip. The chicken itself was not dry but it was very salty, for a
person that loves salty food. We mentioned it to the waitress and she
was like okay do you want something else?
We have been more than patient and understanding.
Remember we were starving because we had already been seated for over
a 45 minutes and we decided to eat it anyhow. When we tasted the ravioli
we decided it was ricotta and Parmesan shoved into a pasta. Bland and
the sauce was runny to say the least. After eating a good portion of that
plate, there was a NASTY BLACK HAIR IN MY PLATE!! I wanted to vomit on
site. I flagged the waitress down and she took the plate and disappeared.
There was no I'll get the manager or anything. We sat there for about
5 minutes and then she came back and said that it would be taken off our
bill. We then preceded to get our check and we were ready to leave. I told
her that I wanted to speak to a manager and ended up going in and explaining
the whole situation to the "manager". I am not sure if he
was an owner or a manager, but he needs to go to school to learn proper
customer relations. He was outwardly confrontational and preceded
to raise his voice at me in the middle of his dining room about how they
do not use salt. Well his comment alone should tell you how this food
tastes. According to the manager, they do not use salt. He stated to
tell me that they do not even have it in the kitchen. I said okay..can
I see your kitchen? Needless to say I was shot down.
I will never eat there again not because of the cold or unsanitary food,
the slow service, but it is because this restaurant lacks customer
service and appreciation.
