I eat at this wonderful restaurant at least three times a month. Each time I am reminded why I went. The Tuscana salad is to die for with it's mozzarella balls and palenta croutons. The Prince Edward mussels areralso a favorite for me (in season). The filet Mignon is always prepared perfect for me medium rare. Everything you eat here just melts in your mouth. Most of all Ambiance, Ambiance, Ambiance!!!!!!!!

We went to this restaurant on a Friday night after a 5 year abscence and were happy to see it was brimming with people as we rememberered. We were going to the Bushnell afterwards and were on a pretty loose time schedule. Our 6:30 reservation ran 45 minutes late as we waited in the bar. The bar was so full we could barely sip our drinks. No one appologized to us for the delay. Our obviously busy server failed to suggest any specials or house drinks, and pretty much just took our order and dropped our check. Appetizers were fair but lackluster. I ordered a large NY strip steak that I had seen at another table while walking through the dining room. I ordered it medium and it came out nearly well-done. By the time our server asked how the meal was progressing, there was no time to order another. We got the check and sped to the Bushnell. I realize they are very busy, but so are their patrons. I should have spent my $150 at the steakhouse across the street. There is no way thi ... more

Love this place. The food is excellent and the service is very good. I have had many meals with large groups of people as well as with just a few of my friends and have been very pleased with the overall service and meals.

Over arted - everyone now - over rated. Richie rosenthal should be embarrassed with this step down from his flagship. I've had three meals there - overpriced - overpriced and cold. I'm even willing to have a bad meal if the ambience is there - nada nunca zilch... very poor and I won't go back for the fourth try

Maxamore is an excellent restaurant. It has a wide variety of choices to choose from. I always say it has the best bang for a buck. Besides excellent pasta dishes, you have to try their steaks. This is coming from a person from NYC who used to eat at Peter Lugers and the Old Homestead consistently. We have been dining at Maxamores for the past four years and have never had a bad dish. What more can you ask for, good food, moderate prices, excellent service, and a great atmosphere.

Although it shares the "Max" name, there is very little in common with Max Downtown. Max Amore is certainly a more casual environment, but it still has a bit of class (and a menu to match.) The menu is complete with odd choices that you wouldn't normally see in an italian restaurant. This works well at Max Downtown, but comes off a little presumptuous here in Glastonbury. The food is good, but not great, and you might find it difficult to find something on the menu to choose from.

Having been to the Max's Downtown as well as the Oyster Bar in West Hartford, I found Max A More to be a little more casual and relaxed. The open air look of the kitchen reminded me a little of Macaroni Grill but it was in keeping with the vibe of the place. The drink menu has all the regular Max's martini's as well as an ample wine list. The menu has many different flavors that would appeal to just about anyone as well as more casual choices. I couldn't believe that pizza was on the back!

While the Max in Hartford is a little more expensive. I liked the scene and the food a lot better. They do indeed have a very good menu, but there's something missing at Maxamore. I don't know what. maybe i found the serviceto be better, or it has better management....or maybe they just had a better chef on the night that I was in Hartford, anyways, I payed a considerable ammount of money for a product that I wasn't very impressed with. It was sort of a let down. Fortunately, I was in very good company....
