We visited in the off season (March, 2009) and the Rockland Cafe was
one of the few places open. Checked it out on a Sunday afternoon and liked
the diner feel of it. We were not particularly impressed with the clam
chowder (I'm a real stickler!) as it appeared to be rather thin
(? milk based), not creamy and thick the way I prefer it. The fish and
chips were a disappointment too with deep fried morsels that often
had no fish in them and fries that were limp and undercooked. The ambience
is nice and I'm sure we perhaps just selected items that were not
their specialty.

The board of specials always has something interesting, such as lobster
rolls, shrimp melt, etc. Chowders are homemade I believe and delicious.
The standards such as fried haddock sandwiches, crab rolls, burgers,
spaghetti are always good. Neat pictures hang on the wall - enlargements
of historical photos of Rockland. Have visited here a few times now,
and I'm sure I'll be going again soon!

Friendly staff, interesting menu, good food - what more could you want?
Right in the heart of downtown Rockland, this is a fun place to grab a
quick pick me up from the bakery selection or to sit down and have a great
meal. The board of specials always has something interesting, such
as lobster rolls, shrimp melt, etc. Chowders are homemade I believe
and delicious. The standards such as fried haddock sandwiches, crab
rolls, burgers, spaghetti are always good. Neat pictures hang on the
wall - enlargements of historical photos of Rockland.

Stumbled across this delightful little place while window shopping
a couple of weeks ago and went in for a late lunch.
WONDERFUL ! Great service and the choices were not your usual
sandwich shop fare. Very advant garde and worth a try. Dessert
was above average as well. We wish we had one closer to our home
- it is a place to stop whenever we are back in town.

A great little gem in the heart of a growing cultural center. I
hope it keeps its identity. A regular hit for our family. We had
Thanksgiving dinner '99 there when we arrived late from out of
town that year. What a treat for less than $11.00! Friendly, courteous
help.
