Thatcher's Restaurant

I unfortunately recently in august had an unbelievable experience at thatches as well, Taken the family (from another state)out to enjoy Maine, and I am sorry to say it was with relatively some of the staff mentioned here, and maybe a new one if Im not mistaken.At the door we waited for a seat to be cleaned off, ,, , I had been seated and about fifteen min. later I was asked what do I want as “ Are you all set to order” So one of my sons started to order his meal, went to next, next, next and then finally came to me I ordered my meal as well. I waited for another, que, to order drinks, ,, she walked away. I though she would come back and offer drinks or water at the least. I had another waitress pass and asked if we could finish ordering. Seven minuets later she came and said do you know what you want for beverages? I said we did when you were here the first time, and we waited fifteen min before you came to us, she was rude and said well if you ordered them with your ... more

I said we did when you were here the first time, and we waited fifteen min before you came to us, she was rude and said well if you ordered them with your meal wheni took your order you would have had it , but you guys didnt, I said well i should have gotten them when we were seated am i correct, she said well what did you guys want to drink well make a long story short my meal ended up being not what we ordered and my son is lactose and he had stuff on his food he said not to have, drinks came after we had been served and we got check right after and I mean right after meal was set on table. After paying 74.$ and tip I will not return to this thatches again, after the treatment we received, unless it goes under new management. I asked for manager they said assistant is on, I took # for manager and left!!. I am sorry this is the way some people treat customers, all of them are not like that there. We will just be more pickers about places we eat at. I hope this improves because we all loved to eat there before and now its changed. Maybe vacations need to be given, New Attitude when they come back!! less

Thatchers Westbrook Beware of the Big Bad Wolf with the Attitude. The Day time male Bartender is rude and should not be in the position he is in. This Bartender has been asked several times about why the WIFI doesn't work and is there something we need to do to make it work. His similar rude unprofessional response basically saying no one else is having a problem just you each time has left us uncomfortable enough to leave the Restaurant. We have been eating there for lunch at least 6 times per month with an average check of $50 to $70. The Wait Staff like Kristen and Mandy have been great, All the Wait Staff have been as accomodating as possible which has been reflected in our tips to them. Because of this Bartenders last response, I went and had my lap top checked by a computer expert, it is fine, the problem is with the WIFI signal or limitations at Thatchers. The food is of good portions and priced accordingly. They have good specials and a great Shrim ... more

I actually came to Thatchers pub on a regular bases with my friends by after my last visit on 4/19/06 I considering never go again. MANDY SERV 19 WHICH APPARNTLY IS SUPPOSE TO BE A MANAGER AT YOUR ESTABLISHMENT SHOULD ABSOLUTELY BE FIRED OR STRONGLY WARNED ABOUT HOW SHE SHOULD ACT TOWARDS CUSTOMERS AT YOUR RESTURANT. SHE WAS EXTREMELY RUDE TO MY FRIENDS AND MYSELF ABOUT HOW UNFAIR SHE FELT HER TIP WAS AND THAT WE WERE TO LEAVE 15-25% TIP. WELL BEFORE ANYONE COULD SEE THE TIP TO CORRECT IT SHE WAS BEING EXTREMELY RUDE AND STORMED OFF SAYING "WHAT THE HELL EVER" THEN WHEN WE ASKED TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE ABOUT HOW WE WERE TREATED SHE CAME BACK AND SAID" I AM THE MANAGER", AND WE TRIED TO AGAIN EXPLAIN OUR POSITION, SHE WALKED OFF AND SAID "GO AHEAD AND REPORT ME" SO I WAS BESIDE MYSELF BECAUSE MY FRIENDS AND I GO TO YOUR RESTURANT IN SOUTH PORTLAND ON A REGUALAR BASES.
