I want to commend West Des Moines, Ia Carlos O'Kelly's for
a spectacular experience this past weekend while my family from out
of town visited! We went to another restaurant in town (big mistake)
we sat for (1) hour and were only visited 2 times by our waitress. We ended
up leaving after an hour--STILL NO FOOD OR APPETIZERS had yet arrived??
The restaurant was not even busy they said sorry we only have one cook?
Is that my problem as a patron--Anyway I phoned Carlos and spoke with
the Manager Michelle, gave her a brief description of our last hour
at the competitors restaurant she said "come right in we can get
you a table" on a Friday night at 8 pm!! SHE DID IT!! They made room
for us and had our table ready in the 10 minutes it took to drive there!!
Not only did we have the most awesome prompt efficient service they
made sure we NEVER ran out of drink or pop SHE EVEN BROUGHT OVER PLENTY
OF FREE CONQUESO!!! She was just the BEST not the mention our waiter
ANDY!!! KUDOS to Carlos especially Michelle and Andy--you always
had our immediate family won over, but now my 85 year old grandmother,
my parents, sister and child are going to be Carlos regulars!!! ESPECIALLY
the Carlos on Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA

Menu is very much so Tex Mex...a little overpriced but decent.
This location has seen a lot of controversy lately due to a shooting
at the restaurant sometime within the past few years. Not in a
greatest section of Topeka, but food is not bad.

Carlos O'Kelleys has good food if you actually go to the restaraunt.
The few times we have ordered "take out" from there, the food has
been hard and not the best quality, but if you sit down and order
there, the service and food are both decent quality. They serve
basic Mexican food.
