One of favorite One of favorite mex places. Interesting dishes. Has changed slithly from a serve yourself restuarant to a sit down and get from a waiter. Great drunken chicken, other good entrees and usually different specials. Variety and good eats

Puerco's is one of my favorite places to stop for lunch (especially when very hungry). The cuisine is truly authentic Mexican, which is VERY hard to find in KC. I prize the corn tortillas! They are hand-made, and good enough to make a meal out of. There are several positives about Puerco's... including excellent, low fat, nutritious food (real Mexican food is NOT a pile of cheese melted over everything) and a relaxed un-stuffy atmosphere. If you want romantic music and classy ambiance, don't go to this place. They not only have authentic food, but they also have authentic decor. It's very colorful and busy. You can count on hearing Jimmy Buffet playing in the background. If you like margarita's, make sure to try one, especially if the owner will make them for you. He makes the best in town. And if you're traveling? I hear they just opened another one in Bremerton, WA. They must be doing something right!

This is the only "real" mexican restaurant I've run across in the K.C. area....actually it strongly reminds me of the restaurants in Baja....The food is awesome, I love the mini tacos...the employees recommended trying one of each filling on a platter. It was great and the prices are very affordable.

Traditional food, an atmosphere that reminded me of Matamoros, MX. Very charming place, excellent menu. You'll definately find me here at least 2x a month (so much good food in KC not enough time :) )

I went here a long time ago and felt very akward manly because this is TRADITIONAL mexican food! Also, i felt that I needed some sort of hispanic background to understand the employees which is incredibly akward. Though the food was good and VERY SPICEY, I wouldn't come here again because of my past experiences (which is sad because it was good)!
