All credit goes to Jose Ps for taking Mexican food a step beyond the ordinary (e.g. ground beef, pureed frijoles, forgettable rice). It's not exactly fine dining, but for causual, well done Mex, Jose P has carved out a well-earned reputation. There are much better places in town to get authentic Mexican food (see Mi Ranchito), but in terms of atmosphere, service (best in town), and reliably good food, you'll never bve disappointed at Jose Pepper's.

Great service and a unique menu that is different from most mexican restaurants. My wife and I both had enchiladas and they were excellent. Great service also.

Good place, not that bad service. There are a few better places to go for mexican food, but this is tie you over if you are carving mexican food.

Absolutely love this place - come to Jose Peppers (either this location, off of Midland and 435 or out off of Santa Fe & 35) on almost a weekly basis. Also have been known to stop and get the chips and salsa for an evening at home! The spinada enchiladas are wonderful and you can either order a lunch special or a dinner special! My son (who's 2 1/2) is a sucker for the chips and salsa and the sweet corn treat they put on dinner plates. A must for those that have a taste for a good mexican meal.

I had the enchiladas and they were to die for! Great Mexican with excellent service. Highly recommended for south Johnson Countians. However, anyone who lives closer to Kansas City proper would be much better suited going to one of the many fine Mexican restaurants on Southwest Blvd., if only for the atmosphere.

THIS IS THE ONE TO TRY. GREAT SERVICE, ASK FOR TREVOR. FOOD IS SUPER. BE PREPARED TO WAIT IF YOU COME AFTER 7:00, BUT THEY MOVE THINGS PRETTY QUICK OUR FAVORITE

Great food and fair pricing, I went here last week after my friend has been telling me to go here for months! Boy was she right, the service was great and not too crowded. I was in a hurry and got in and out of there in 25 minutes...AMAZING! Come here for some great Mexican food off Metcalf!
