My GOD!! As far as class goes, this place beats all. I was lucky enough to have a wealthy friend on the island, and she treated me out to here. I must say, that even though my ability to eat certain kinds of seafood limit me when it comes to sushi bars, the selection here was still unbelivable. They opted to give me the special of the day, until I told them of my allergic reaction to most fishes, and were completely willing to work with me on a selection that was acceptable, and the chef actually came out and talked it over with me. The staff were what I would expect of a high class restaurant, and are very particular about how certain things were to be eaten, but from my times over in Nippon, this wasn't too much of a problem, and they were very helpful with any of the questions I did have. The sake selection was superb, with some of the most mellow So Chiku Bai vintages that I have ever had, and are definately head and shoulders better than the So Chiku Bai th ... more

The costs of their dishes varies. They are more on the costly side if you want to go and get stuffed.

This is one place where if you eat there you follow the rules. Make reservations. if you're late, they will call you and to see if you're there soon and they will bump you. You have to use chopsticks and the wait staff will tell you if you have to eat it in one bite or two. And make sure you turn your cell phone off! That said, the pretension is stiff, but well deserved. Every item is exquisitely prepared, explained, presented and tasty too. Yes, it is expensive, but this place is GOOD. The LA version sister restaurant is the patronized by many Hollywood celebrities and after eating here, you'll see why.

Although the food is very tasty I really think that they use a lot of MSG. The prices are very high. I have gone in and had their "Trust me" and found that with a few drinks and a friend the bill to be in excess of $200.00. I am not sure if they are using MSG but it is suspect. When you eat here.... the sushi is interesting and tasty. And so is the cost.

As a seafood professonal of 16 years and a sushi eater of 18 years I think my opinion should be credible. This place surpasses all of any Americans expectations.Sushi-Chef Sejei Kumugawa is a bit egotistical but the food, drink and staggering selection of fish from every hemisphere is priceless! This is an unsolicited endorsement but honestly in a 2 week trip to 3 islands this place was #1, and it was up against some serious competitors!P.S. this is degustation style Japanese dining at sushi-bar ie. you do not order the motto here "special of the day trust me" Try this one.
