This is great restaurant. It's a bit dark, but that really
didn't matter. The menu is abundant, with great steaks,
chicken, etc. I had the filet mignon, which was not the best I have
ever had, but then again I was comparing it to some of the great
SF steak houses. I would go back if I were in the neighborhood,
but the parking was not easy, so I suggest not going on a weekend
night.

The hardest part about eating here is deciding whether to eat
the filet or to go for one the specials like the lamb shank. I have
never had lamb so good and I'm from the UK where lamb is a common
dish. We've always had first class service and have never
had a bad meal. It is rather expensive, but it's worth it.
The one down side this the parking. Although we've always
manged to park, the lot is a little small for the size (and quality)
of the resaurant.

I love this place. I think it's honestly one of the best steak
houses on the peninsula. The atmosphere is very appealing and
everyone seems very friendly. I think sometimes when it's
really busy they need to put more people on, that's the only
thing negative I have to say about it. Kudo's to this place,
the foods great!

We had heard really good things about Sundance Mine Company,
so on a special occasion, we decided to try it out.
Upon entering, I noticed the very nice decor and atmosphere.
They did a really good job with the interior.
We ordered the Filet Mignon spring rolls and the calamari for
appetizers, and they were both excellent. Very unique flavor
and sauce.
For the main course, I ordered the Filet Mignon and Lobster, and
my date ordered the Prime Rib and Lobster. Now comes the strange
part. Although this is supposed to be a steak place, the beef was
awful, and the lobster was great.
I had ordered my Filet Mignon rare to medium rare, but it arrived
medium to well done. It was dry and chewy and had absolutely no
flavor whatsoever. On the other hand, the lobster was excellent,
one of the best I've had.
My date's Prime Rib, though cooked to her liking, was average,
no flavor whatsoever. "Thank god for the horseradish" was her
comment.

I had always thought of Sundance as one of if not the best place
to get a great Prime Rib in the Bay area.
But what made me really appreciate Sundance even more was after
a recent trip to Manhattan where I sampled some
of the supposed top steak houses there. While their prime rib
was certainly well above average, I left each resturant
wishing for Sundance. If the NY houses were a 8, Sundance is a 10.
I have not sampled their other entrees
(testament to the prime rib) but my friends who have say the chicken
marsala and the salmon is excellent. Their
clam chowder is also a great bet--even the butter for the bread
is good! A true 5-star.

We went there for dinner and the food was reasonably good, but
the service was unbelievably awful. It took 30 minutes from the
time we sat down to get salads and over an hour to delivery of
dinner. We had the same experience in the bar while waiting for
a table. Unfortunately, the quality of the food didn't make up
for the lack of service.

Overall, the food here is quite good,
although, like most steak places they have
something of a problem figuring out the
difference between rare, medium rare, and
medium. I once ordered a steak medium and was
served one that was a lot closer to blue. I
sent it back, and ended up with something that
was rare. But, and this is a big but, the
appetizers, are quite good, and the clam
chowder is excellent. Service is OK,
atmosphere a bit subdued for me.

Bob, Gayland & Aron Fletcher have created an up-scale comfortable
eating and drinking establishment with class and style!
This place is my "CHEERS"! A great bar with great bar tenders!
Roger (you may know him from the old days at Talbots) and David
(from Stuff Pizza in Mtn. View) make it a pleasure to
sit and watch someone else work hard for a living! They offer a full
bar with some tasty local microbrewery beers on tap.
The food is always good! The chefs, Mike, Armondo & Dukes (Alfredo)
always present a great menu AND their Prime Rib is excellent!
You'll notice the staff! Their there to please just you!
Stop by and have a "BOBB" at the bar (it's a beer) or just say HI!
Tell'em BOBB sent you!
CHEERS...

This is an excellent place for lunch. The prime rib is
very good, but what is really good are the stuffed
pasilla peppers.
This is one of my favorite lunch spots.
