I ordered food to be delivered and it was the WORST chinese food I have ever had. They got the order wrong (sent a chicken dish instead of spare ribs) the fried rice was greasy and the sweet and sour pork was full of gristle and horrible. I called to complain and the manager said he was sorry we had a bad experience but didn't offer to do anything to correct it. I was surprised at how expensive this was, too.

I've been eating here for more than 10 years. The lunches are inexpensive but I don't particularly care for them. The family carry-out dinners are great and they sell quite a few of them. Don't let the small crowd inside scare you away. The location, next to a bus stop, is not the best but they have lots of carryout business. Very peaceful inside and the same owners have been here a long time.

Authentic Chinese! I recently ordered out 10 big plates for a party, and the owner provided cordial service. He suggested some house specials, e.g. walnut shrimp, bamboo shoot beef, which were very well received by my Chinese friends. The size of one order is much bigger than that of most other places. But again, the quality is the true winning point.

I don't live in Oakland any more (I miss it very much, tho), but when I did, the Szchuan restaurant was my favorite! My husband & I would go there & I would go there at least once a week...everything was always GREAT!! When we left Oakland to come back to Bend, the folks at my work gave me a going away party & surprised me with all my favorite dishes from the Szchuan---AND enough to feed 160 people!! They all loved it, too, and the Szchuan had 160 more BIG fans!! Whenever family & friends came to visit, we'd take them to the Szchuan & we STILL talk about how good it was!!

Located close to the Grand Lake Theater, this is a great neighborhood place. The food is excellent and probably more than you can finish. The hot and sour soup was a great starter to our meal. You may want to try the lunch menu from 11:30 to 3:00pm. The most expensive item is $4.50. From the size of the portions server from the regular menu, it probably would have been a good idea to try the lunch (unless you have not eaten for several days).

Basically good however, was surprised to be charged for the rice and over a dollar fifty for a can of soda
