I have frequented Mexican Village since I was a child but tonight, at 5pm, we were told by the Hostess Lucella that our 18 month old daughter got too much food on the floor - I explained that we always tip at least 50% and give the bus boy $20 on each visit - she said she didn't care. I further explained that I also have had parties for over 100 people at their restaurant - to no avail. She then suggested that we take our child and leave - So we did. I felt discriminated against and will never return and would recommend all to abandon this restaurant for others - I was very disappointed

First visit to this location in a number of years. We were surprised by the small portions. A Botana salad appetizer was small and had few trimmings (2 whole slices of avocado!). A side of guacamole was .60 - served in a small paper "pill cup".

Entrees were good, and tasty - when they finally showed up at the table. Service was slow and sort of "when we get around to it". While we had a 16 people, I was surprised to see the waitress keep forgetting items that had been ordered - appetizers, drinks, entrees, and deserts. Not at all the way this same restaurant used to be.

Overall - a classic Detroit Mexican eatery that is resting on it's reptuation.

The staff was fantastic, the bartender let us use his cell phone to locate a missing member of our party and the owner sat and talked to us about the neighborhood.

Being that I have to cross the US/Canada border to get to this place, it's worth the trip. The food is typical mexican, but very tasty. The prices are fair in regards to the portions and the service almost always has a smile. It's even a good place to bring the kids, durring the on weekends.

We got seated right away for a friday evening. Entrees were fairly priced. The burrazo was very good excellent sauce, however would have preferred ground beef rather than beef chunks. Margarita was VERY VERY potent so watch out!! Overall good food for the buck.

Standard Mexican menu, busy on weekends. Make sure to get a hot chocolate, made from scratch and worth the wait. Occasionally spotty service. Multiple locations.
