I went to Victorias lastnight along with my husband and two kids. We met about 10 other people there for a little get together. We had been looking forward to trying this little shop for quite some time so it seemed like a good idea. First off, there is NO childrens menu & NO children friendly pasta dishes either. When I asked for a childrens menu they acted as if I had shot their mother... and said, just order them something from the regular menu - we don't make hamburgers and hot dogs here... as if "victorias" is too good or even an upscale restaurant - this place is a dirty little hole in the wall with a cramped seating area and rude college students so called "working" there. There isn't a very good selection to choose from with no more than 15 items on the menu. Once we all arrived and was seated we were told that there would be no seperate tickets (on the menu it says no seperate tickets for groups of 6 or more and an 18% gratuity would be added). The waitress we had was very rude and acted as if she didn't want to be there. We all ordered (on 1 ticket) and waited for nearly an hour on our food. We had a basket of garlic bread, aka some stale bread with a blob of oil in the center and the smallest hint of garlic taste... not impressed. I ordered the black pepper linguini for myself which arrived and smelled of dead fish because of the "fresh crab meat" that I couldn't for the life of me find in the dish. Our food came on tiny salad plates with the pasta stacked about 5 inches high & nearly impossible to eat w/o spilling everywhere. My husband had the "best of victorias" from which he picked the Lasagana roll which was burnt to a crisp, the fetuccini alfrado & the linguini with oil and lemon. Later he told me that he'd had better pasta off the floor. My husband is not a picky eater either. For my two children I had no choice but to order the alfrado also. I had to get two plates and try to get a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old to eat this messy pasta. I had to ask the waitress for a spoon for my children to use & she brought me back a soup spoon - how clueless can one person be? After we were done eating, the waitress from hell comes over to us all and asks what the easiest way for her to do the ticket is? All this after previously asking for seperate tickets. Anyway, she continues to go around the table and give us a "number" and make a list of what each group had. From there she goes to the register and prints out seperate tickets for each of us... with the 18% gratuity still included of course. We continued to pay her each in our own different way until one person in the group had cash. His ticket was $11 including her 18% gratuity. She took his $20 bill and asked if he wanted change?! I will never go back to Victorias. I make better pasta and sauces than they ever will. If you want really good pasta, either take a trip up to Memorial Rd. to Johnny Carrinos - that is italian food to rave about. But if you are even thinking of going to Victorias, save yourself the $20 and go to the store and buy some pasta and some canned sauce... it would definately be better food & you wouldn't have to deal with the waitstaff from hell. less
