I don't live in this area, but visited it in July 2004 and July 2005. After my 2005 visit, I realized that my review below is not that of Bob's Fish House in Cape Girardeau, but rather Babe's Fish House in East Cape Girardeau.

I never heard or read of this place, stopped by and saw a long line of people waiting to order and receive their orders. This is, at least on a July weekday, a two-person establishment and is therefore incapable of handling its demand gracefully. I recall there was only two items on the menu, catfish and buffalo ribs. I ordered both and found them both superb. If the demand is perennially as I saw it then, this place needs to expand.

Bobs Fish house is a great place to eat. They have delicious food and a unique atmosphere that includes copies of old magazines added to the decor. I prefer Bobs to LJS and cannot say they are a copycat. They serve cajun food and many more healthier selections than LJS. I agree that this restaurant could be better it it were more accessable to the handicap and if the booths were bigger. But rating the food there I must give this establishment 5 stars!
