Absolutely the best meal I've had in a long, long time. My the beef
portion on my kabob was huge, I love the hummus and everything was just
excellent. For those who say the service is slow--it's because
they are back there making it by hand, FRESH for you. It's not fast-food,
already made up and sitting around. It's made to order, so yes,
you might have a small wait. But boy, was it worth it. My husband who is
very picky enjoyed his meal tremendously, and he NEVER says good things
when he eats out, so that is one clue I found a gem. Stopped by on the recommendation
from a co-worker, and wish I'd of done it sooner. We'll be back
again--many, many times!

Shish Cafe is absolutely outstanding. I have dined there dozens of
times in the past 4 years and am never disappointed. The flavors are
rich and well rounded without being overdone. I often entertain friends
and clients at the restaurant, many who have never tried Lebanese food,
and everyone has left delighted by the menu and service. One of my absolute
favorites in Madison

This restaurant, run by a Syrian Chef, is excellent. I give it 4 stars
out of 5, as I give 5 stars only to very high brow places like Charlie Trotters
in Chicago. The Shish always serves excellent food, fresh, perfectly
prepared Middle Eastern Cuisine. Especially good are his fish and
lamb dishes, and take advantage of the specials of the day, as those
are always worth the try. I have been to Shish dozens of times, and I have
never been disappointed since Rabi took over several years ago. Prices
are very reasonable. HIGHLY recommended.

This restaurant is excellent. Very good friendly service. Having
recently moved form Chicago we were looking for an authentic Lebanese/Syrian
restaurant. What a find! Shish cafe has very healthy, tasty authentic
dishes using the best ingredients. A full 5 star!

I think that the service at the Shish is friendly and efficient. The
food proportions are excellent and you get a lot for your money. This
is one of my favorite restaurants because the food is authentic and
delicious and the service is great! I highly recommend it..

While I have had occasions of slower service, generally it the
service has been great! I recommend going when Farida is performing.
She's a great middle eastern dancer. I suggest reservations.
She usually dances the 3rd weekend of the month. Call Shish to
find out the day each month.

Give the Shish another try! There are newer owners, and the change
is incredible. In the past, I had been disappointed, however,
the change under the new ownership has been consistently wonderful!
I had the vegetarian combo #2, and was thrilled! I thought the
portions were excellent, I could barely finish my meal, and the
flavors were remarkable! The service was also quick, friendly
and an absolute pleasure! I suggest this as a restaurant to try,
and I look forward to my next visit.

Expensive and just not allthat great. I've dropped in on
at least three seperate occasions craving good baba ganouj,
and a falafel. I'm always met with slow service and not so
tasty food, small portions and disappointment. For better Middle
eastern cuisine try Kabul.

I visited the Cafe on two different occasions. Unfortunately,
the quality of the food was less than average. The service was
very slow, and the portions were extremely small. I expected
a bit more authentic atmosphere, I guess that was too much to expect.
